Useful for clubroot soil
I dig this into land that has clubroot before I plant brassicas. Ideally I get clubroot resistant varieties, but some like sprouting broccoli aren't available. This is easy to use, and very effective against clubroot.

OK but large granules
A month after I put this on the flower beds, the granules show no sign of dissipating. Will have to dig it in.

Easy to apply and use
The lime comes in sealed bags in a 10kg tub so doesn’t absorb moisture from the atmosphere, which can be a problem with storage of boxes and bags. It is granular so is much cleaner, quicker and easier to apply than powder, you can rake it in like a top dressing of fertiliser. Lime has many uses, on clay soils is clumps the fine particles together making the soil more friable and less heavy, steadily improving fertility and drainage over time. It is also useful for many crops, particularly brassicas, where it helps prevent club root, and beans and peas where it helps setting. Some plants, such as rhododendrons and blueberries need an acid soil, some prefer alkaline but most are happiest at a pH of 7 or just below, so using a granular lime dressing makes it easy to target certain plants which will benefit while leaving ericaceous varieties untouched. Elixir, incidentally, also supply tubs of ericaceous fertiliser. Lime is not always easy to obtain in garden centres and can be expensive, this is a simple option, delivered to your door at a good price and easy to apply.
