It was nice and easy to install - depending on how thick your mattress is you will run into a few problems - we had to make bigger plates at the head of the bed to keep it from sliding down when we put the bed up and the bottom rail that flips up is too thin to fit over the mattress we had to take the middle bar out, but other than that it was nice and easy to install!

Difficult to put together. Missing the gas springs that were supposed to come with this product. Very disappointed that items are missing considering the price and now need to spend more to get it completed.

I purchased this Murphy because it was advertised as ‘free standing’ not needing to be attached to a wall or floor, ‘great for renters’. This bed MOST DEFINITELY needs to be attached to something unless you want to leave it unused in an upright position. If you try to pull the mattress support down without it being attached, the entire base will come down with the mattress! So yes, false advertising and plan to make holes in your floor and/or wall. It took 2 hours to assemble the bed and 3 hours on the last step to attach the gas ‘springs’.. By the time I figured an alternative method of installing those springs I had contemplated throwing the entire bed over the balcony. Very frustrating to say the least!!! The legs that are supposed to be able to flip over a 10” mattress does NOT flip over a bare (as in no pad, sheets or blanket) 10” mattress! The wooden slats that support the mattress need at least another 1/2” more length as they easily just fall out of their plastic holders that attach to the mattress rail. I mean seriously, how cheap can they possibly get not to give another 1/2”?? I’m sure I’ll be purchasing longer boards in the future, if this bed lasts that long. I have wanted a Murphy bed for quite awhile even ordering one and then canceling and purchasing this one because it was advertised as ‘free standing’, which it definitely is NOT if you intend to actually pull it down away from wall for use. Overall, frustrating and disappointing. 2 stars because it was relatively easy to assemble until that last step. Works ok after putting craters in your floor and/or wall to support it. That old saying ‘you get what you pay for’ fits perfectly.

The queen-sized bed is very stable when made up and is also quite smooth to fold up. The gas spring design is really helpful. The two-level assist allows me to open and close it relatively easily by myself without much effort. The overall steel frame structure looks very solid, not wobbly, and the materials are also thick. The DIY process requires hands-on ability. It took a lot of time to install it myself, and I had to keep reading the instructions in the middle. It was a bit troublesome. If it is your first time to make this kind of wall bed, you may find it troublesome. After it was put away, the room immediately freed up a lot of space. I usually use it as a study, and occasionally put it down when guests come. It feels very practical
