Not 2 minutes after I unpacked it, this happened...
My kitty set up shop on his new chaise lounge chair and demanded I whip him up some frozen beverage. I've bought plenty of these over the years, but this one uses a very thick corrugated cardboard that will help with longevity. Also unlike others I've purchased in the store, this one has alternating textures in the cardboard to make things more interesting for kitty. I'm very pleased with my purchase, and it's 'Abner' approved! Hope this helps!

Cat Scratcher fit for a Queen.
I have 7 indoor cats (ages 6 months to 7 1/2 years) and they all love to scratch. The traditional cardboard scratchers all seem to shred rather quickly and there is a mess of cardboard pieces all over the house. I waited to write this review so I could see how long this particular scratcher lasted.Over a month later, it is still in one piece and looks almost new even though it has been used by all of my cats several times a day. I have even seen two of the younger ones using it together. My babies like to lay on the scratcher when not scratching and the shape is perfect for lounging. When I sprinkle a bit of the catnip on it, they go crazy. I need to order several more so then they will all be content kitties.

My Cat Adores This!
I was reticent to buy this, thinking a small board wouldn't make a good scratching post. However, I am thrilled that I bought it. Some say the board moves. It does a little, but my cat, Chloe, can hold it with her body so she can scratch. We have had huge scratching posts that Chloe wouldn't use except to lie on top of. Instead, she scratched furniture and the carpet. But she absolutely loves this small, inexpensive board. She scratches it often. She even loves laying her head on it or even sleeping on it. We have had the board for three months and haven't turned it to the second side yet, so I think we got a good return on our money.

Love it
The media could not be loaded. First off, I do not agree with the process or procedure of declawing cats. But I do also understand that there are emergency situations that can arise. Three of my cats or front declawed but they still have their back clause. They are all adoptions. The newest cat is about two years old and he has all his calls and I am not willing to remove them so we train him to use his scratching post and his scratching pad’s. He is extremely intelligent and has not scratched on anything that he is not allowed to. as soon as I laid this down he was already on it and scratching and loving it. He will scratch on it and then look at us waiting for us to tell him that he did a good job. And that is all it takes for him to be happy and is very well trained.

Cat loves it
So 5/5 stars for that, because what else matters? My cat absolutely loves the curves and the second texture--it's her favorite part! But because of this she only shreds the rising curve of the board, which is only about 1/4 of one side of the board's surface, and it became flat VERY quickly. I don't know how it is for other cats, but for my cat, the spoiled little princess she is, this board is amazing but only partially usable. It's understandably more expensive than your average cardboard scratcher, so I don't plan on regularly replacing this board for her, but I do plan on buying again!

My cat is OBSESSED WITH THIS scratcher
Like, words can't describe how simultaneously protective/possessive/obsessive/straight up bananas she is for this. I've never seen her act like this with a scratcher: she treats it more like a toy, lifting and bunny-kicking it, dragging it around, then face-rubbing and chomping it--its ridiculous. I pick it up to sweep under it--she stands on her hind legs yowling and reaching for it like she's terrified I won't give it back. I don't even have to put catnip on it, she acts like the whole THING is catnip.Irritating thing: Because of the differing style of cardboard and the fact that it's not in a retaining box, the little shreds Get. Fricking. EVERYWHERE!! From the very first day, we had to allocate a special corner for this to go because of the inevitable daily mess. (And I mean like, seriously: EVERYWHERE. I literally found a bit in my *soup* once. Like...how the !@$!&"! does that even HAPPEN..?? It shreds (and then resultingly, sheds) like CRAZY, then she tracks the little paper bits all over so it's like, sand when you leave the beach: in our bed, in the shower...)All that being said, I'm obvs going to keep buying these for her because I am totally kitty-whipped and it makes her so unbelievably gleeful to wreck this thing to death. (It's held up longer than I expected, too--like 3 months, longer than some she's had.) I expect it's just made from a type of cardboard that's a lot softer than regular corrugated, hence the mess--but also, likely, hence her insane fascination. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Eh. Indoor cats don't really have a lot going on, so finding something that makes her this happy is, for me, definitely worth it.

Saves mY couch
I have multiple cats and the older ones are declawed. Do not judge me because it was either declawed or get rid of them so I chose the lesser option. The youngest is not declawed so we are trying to redirect all his attention to the scratching boards. He loves them and goes through about two a month. Ironically enough the cat that actually does not have his claws likes to climb up on it and pretend to scratch his claws. It is absolutely adorable. They love the shape of this item and they actually will fall asleep on it and if I put it in front of the birds they will sit there And watch it . So technically this doubles as a scratching post and a birdwatching post. It has kept the cat from scratching up anything important in my house. They were all too willing to take a picture for me Thanks

Instant use, stopped clawing my rug for this instead.
I have a 13 lb, 8 year old Siberian cat who has found his new resting spot in our living room. Soon after removing the plastic wrap and placing it on the floor (without the catnip provided), he proceeded to carefully sniff it out and then joyfully began letting those claws knead. He’s been at it all day. My area rugs appreciate the break from the clawing.

Good value for money
Very good product. High density cardboard means my cat loves to sharpen his claws even more than on other scratching boards. Good value for money.

A bit pricey for what is.
It's the same size & the same scratching surface as a much cheaper one I had from pet planet a while ago. Cats have never bothered with it until I moved it into my bedroom. 2 use it as a seat & scratch it. So I bought this one so they had 1 each. They also still use the cat tree. No cat nip with this one, but I occasionally spray it with catnip. The dried catnip just falls through the holes anyway.Be aware that it is by no means large. Anything smaller than large would only suit tiny kittens to be honest.None of my cats are big. The biggest girl is sleeping on it in the photo. The 7 month old make kitten prefers being under it lol & has never tried to scratch it.So if your cats are average or large size then sleeping on it will be awkward. But as cats seem to love squeezing into & on things maybe they would manage ha ha.

Too small and lightweight - cat sits on it but doesn't use it to scratch - updated
This feels too small, other than for a very small cat. My medium sized cat tried to use it to scratch once, but it's far too flimsy for him, or when any pressure is put on it, and it flipped over. He lost confidence and never tried again. He does like to sit on it, but that's not what it was bought for.Update - it has taken a long time, but he is finally using it to scratch! It still seems too small for him, but I wanted to be fair and update this review.

Good quality
Our main servant brought us this new toy. We all tried it out with our nails digging deep into the card, but Ebony has taken over the board to do her nails and she likes to sleep on it. Ebony says good for kitty nails and to have a kip on🐈plus the lads 😺😺.
