Mayhew Select 12302 4-Inch Mason Chisel

This works great! We are cutting slate with it for my pond waterfall and I’m so happy it has that guard in it or my hand would of been smashed a few times

So I know technically I should be making a review primarily for the main purpose of this tool, but by God this is the most useful thing I've ever had in my life. I use it for about a thousand different things. This thing is solid and feels like it'll last a lifetime.

No more hitting my fingers with sledgehammer. I should have bought this years ago.

Purchased to split Versa-Lok blocks in half for a retaining wall build. Worked well and held up to many uses.

Had some landscaping blocks i had to chisel down to the correct size. This thing helped out a ton!

For the price, this thing will save your hand and knuckles. As far as the chisel part, it’s just a chisel but took a decent pounding from a solid hammer. Removed bricks and mortar without much trouble, even used it to break and knock out a stripped bolt that wasn’t moving. Just one of those tools everyone should keep around the house “just in case.” No matter if you’re hammering out bricks or chiseling stone, there are lots of uses for that will pay for itself with how often you grab for it for the odd job here and there. May not realize you need a chisel but trust me: once you’ve got it around you’ll wonder why you didn’t have one earlier and one that will protect your mitts and paws.

I bought this chisel and a rubber mallet to cut 25 pound retaining wall block. It does work, but it is very slow. I spent $60 on a saw and blade and it's saving a lot of time compared to the chisel, even though I only need to cut about ten blocks.

I recommend this for cutting cement tiles, I have used it and been able to successfully cut without issues. Strong, good grip and safe

Good chisel to cut small size blocks.

Chisel end was noticeably bent. Returned right away for refund.
