Why requency response range is important
These are the ones to get. They aren't too expensive, but they sound great. These have a frequency range of 5Hz-24,000Hz. Other products make claims like " high-quality audio with a 20-20KHz range". Theoretically, that's the range of human hearing, but my ears can hear the difference. Here's why...The advertised range (e.g., 5 Hz - 40 kHz) indicates the frequencies the headphones can technically produce, but it doesn’t mean they reproduce them equally well. A "flat" response—consistent volume across all frequencies—is ideal for accuracy, but most headphones have peaks and dips.Reality: At the extremes (like 20 Hz or 20 kHz), the output might roll off—meaning the sound gets quieter or less accurate—rather than being as robust as in the mid-range (e.g., 1 kHz). For example, a headphone claiming 5 Hz might only produce a faint rumble at that level, not a clear tone. Also, I have an identical-looking pair of Sony ear buds that were slightly cheaper and they sound like crap by comparison, so you can't tell by looking at them. Finally, do not believe anyone that says that the range of these headphones can somehow damage your ears. There’s no specific frequency above or below which sound inherently damages ears—whether it’s infrasound (below 20 Hz) or ultrasound (above 20 kHz)—unless it’s delivered at a high enough sound pressure level (SPL), measured in decibels (dB). In other words, you're setting the volume is to loud. So, I have bought these numerous times. I keep coming back to them even though I also have expensive Apple Airpods, because they are relatively inexpensive, comfortable, sound great and don't need to be charged. The only negative is they aren't the best for talking on the phone or using for my work meetings. For meetings with Microsoft Teams I use another pair of headphones with a microphone that's designed to be closer to the mouth for phone calls. But in a pinch they will work for phone calls and meetings. Just don't expect them to have the best quality with the microphone.

Great sound
One of my Bose earbuds lost its cover and I needed replacement earbuds quick. I ordered the Sony earbuds with next day delivery. The sound is almost as good as my Bose earbuds for a fraction of cost of the Bose earbuds.

Great value solid product!
Works well and sounds great! Sound quality is almost on par with my $150 over the ear headphone.

In its natural position low voice mic, not suitable for conference call
I bought this mainly to use for conference calls. Since the previous commenters say this has pretty good mic, so I tried this. I have to say that I'm disappointed though. The mic is good but its natural position when you wear this ear bud is going to cause your mouth to be away from the mic and therefore unless you want to constantly hold the mic next to your mouth, the mic resulted in very low voice. I tested this using Pixel 9 Pro XL recorder app, I read a few sentences from news article and did this multiple times over several different ear buds. I tested both if I wear the ear bud naturally and if I hold the mic next to my mouth. I agree those previous commenters probably held their mic close, it does have good natural voice that is loud enough. However if you don't hold the mic next to your mouth, this is not a good set for conference calls. I can't imagine if I'm on hours long conference call, every time I need to speak, I need to hold the mic closer. This ear bud has low recorded voice. I still keep the set as back up, but I'm still looking. The best ear bud for conference call is the older model MDREX38iP. Maybe the way the mic sits in the Y split so, naturally the mic is always in the middle and if you wear this naturally, your mouth is naturally close by, I don't know. But I'm looking for its replacement.

Perfect wired earphones
I do not like Bluetooth earphones and still prefer the wired ones. These are my absolute favorite. The ear buds fit perfectly (and give you extra ones) and they feel very comfortable in my ears. It's very easy to use and the wire is not too long that it's everywhere and not too short that you feel like you're chained to whatever it is connected to. The black color is simple and discreet. I love the volume feature on the wire to quickly change it without going to the device. There is no need for charging for this! This is an awesome little wired earphone and it's not expensive (when you get it on sale 😀). I'd definitely recommend this.
