Took and a chance after reading the bad reviews. Followed instructions and used with drill press. Worked great with synthetic material and soft wood. Didn't use with hard wood, probably not the best. I don't know what's up with the bad reviews.

These bits are making good plugs, but I am confused by the measurement markings. I purchased a metric set, but found the smallest bit, which should have been 6mm, marked as 1/4". The plugs produced were 7/32" or 5.5mm. Is this the normal tolerance for this kind of tool?I use the plugs as fret markers on guitar fingerboards, so an exact measurement is important. I was able to make these work.

Was making plugs out of oak on first attempt. Became instantly dull. Crap steel

None of the cutters produce a tapered plug. The "tapered" cutters produce a cylindrical plug with a chamfer on the end. They will be a loose fit in the hole they are sized for. (But they are sized metric, and marked imperial. E.G. the cutter labeled 3/8" produces a 10mm plug. the plug is too big for a 3/8" hole, and a loose fit in a 10mm hole.) On the bright side, the cutters I received cut well. I was able to quickly make a large number of plugs of a useless size.
