5/5 — Fantastic Wireless Headset for Gaming and Everyday Use
This is actually the second Xbox Official Wireless Headset I’ve bought — not because the first one failed, but because I loved mine so much that I got another for my son. It’s that good. The sound quality is excellent for gaming on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and even on Windows devices. What really stands out, though, is how seamlessly it handles multiple audio sources. I can watch football on my phone while playing Xbox on the TV, and the headset picks up both without any hassle. It’s easy to focus on whichever sound I want, switching attention between the game and my phone effortlessly. It’s comfortable, reliable, and genuinely enhances the gaming experience. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a high-quality wireless headset that works brilliantly across different devices.

Best headset I’ve used in years
I picked this up for around £45 on offer and I have to say, even though my first set was used and faulty (very clearly a returned item that was sent out in error) and after I got the second set the next day, it’sa good header if you’re looking to spend some money. I want to share the pros and cons. Pros: Great speaker set, with enough bass to make firearms and in-game weapons feel more punchy Comfy over-ear design with soft pads on both your ears and head Accessible volume dial on the right earcup allows for super dialed in volumes (obviously) Long enough cable for most use cases, which is made of rubber to prevent noise travelling up the cord. Cons: Microphone cable is slightly too short, but doesn’t affect the microphone, it just feels short. The top headband cushioning isn’t great for long periods of use, and the weight of the headset does start to become noticeable, leaving a slight ache on the top of your head. Overall, Ithink this is a great headset for the price and Microsoft did a pretty good job designing it to be comfortable, accessible and easy to use.

Great wireless headset
This headset is probably the best I’ve ever owned for Xbox, wireless but easily connectable once paired, the volume is loud and the sound quality is great. The headset itself feels quite heavy and quite robust compared to budget mics I’ve owned. My friends can hear me when speaking with no issues, however if using discord I’d recommend using voice suppression otherwise the mic will pick up everything, there’s a mute button place directly under the mic and you can twist the ear cups outer edge to adjust sound levels. The right side controlling the volume and the left side controlling party/game sound balance. The volume on this headset can be really loud if you need it to be. No idea of the range on the headset yet but I expect it to also be decent. At £90 it’s somewhat on the expensive end, however I tried one of the steel series Arctis models and it didn’t last me more than 8/9 months and the build compared to this felt way worse. The battery life on this headset also seems great, out of the box it came at about 70% charge and after 8 hours of use there was still no low battery life indicator. My advice, if you want a headset for an Xbox and you have had problems with other headsets in the price range of £30-50 just pay the extra on this one.

Rubbish sound quality
Very poor sound quality for both ends of the communication. Very disappointed but useless for game play.

Quality product, but it has its faults
General Audio Pros: The quality of audio from this official Xbox headset is to be commended. If you love bass, you'll be surprised as just how powerful these bad boys can be. If you've been using a cheaper, generic headset and upgrade, you'll likely notice sounds and frequencies (higher and lower) your former headset didn't pick up. Cons: There is substantial sound leakage. These are not top-of-the-line Boss or Sony headphones, but you'd still expect Microsoft to produce a headset that stops housemates hearing every sound made in Call of Duty, for example. This leads to the issue of volume control. I've seen someone else mention something similar, but when I try to lower the volume, it will knock off the audio on one ear, meaning I have to raise the volume to reactivate it. This is quite annoying, as you might end up inadvertently waking people up if gaming later at night as you try to correct basic volume faults. Spatial Audio The fact that this headset works so well with the Dolby Access/Atmos app makes such a difference when it comes to FPS games like Call of Duty. I can accurately pinpoint enemy footsteps using this headset, and this type of thing is a game-changer (forgive the pun) in many modern games. Comfort/Fit The headset is comfortable enough for long gaming sessions. The ear pads are cushioned, and I haven't experienced any discomfort, that I can remember, while using this product. Functionality Being a wired product, you're always going to have a bit of annoyance when the wire gets caught on your gaming chair's armrest, etc. In fact, the wire has got caught quite often, meaning I've had to stop and adjust it, and when this happens during a game, it can mean getting taken out and "respawned". Price I think that a company like Microsoft has more than enough money to offer the wireless version for a lot less. I would have paid £60 for the wireless version (compared to the £45 or so) I paid for the wired headset. I hope Microsoft lowers the price on their wireless headsets (and improves the quality), as wireless is what most people seem to prefer nowadays. Overall A quality product but with its faults. Being wired, it could be sold £15 cheaper, with a reduction in the wireless version to £60. I think this would be fair both for Microsoft and the consumer.
