Long real world review
Amazing performance amazing value it has WiFi but I use Ethernet for better speed and reliability it’s powerful wile using next to no power so many say it don’t matter for a machine that needs to be plugged in but I beg to differ with the cost of electricity my main setup before was a 2017 iMac and a m1 MacBook Pro base model and this tiny little thing runs rings round them I do video editing and other intensive tasks it’s ran them beautifully yes I need to upgrade the monitor it’s one I had laying around as I sed I came from iMac for my main setup easy to set up but if like me you use a wired keyboard and mouse you may need a hub to give you some usb a ports back but there cheep enough just please go for a good one from the likes of ugreen when I stress tested this thing ran rings round my m1 wile staying cool and quiet if your coming from a Mac mini yourself if you’ve seen people complain about the power button the amount of power it uses in sleep just do what I do and let it sleep move the hit a key on the keyboard and it will wake up and I highly doubt you will notice difference in your electric use super easy to set up unless you have 8k cameras and need to edit realy long videos with affects ect this mac will be perfect for you it’s even good at gaming for its price yes native triple a games has a thin library for Mac native but it is growing and this can run the likes of gta 5 using crossover or parallels and run it smoothly tho we don’t buy a Mac to game its nice to know it can when we’re bored and finished our tasks but please think before you buy if your current machine is still doing the job think do I really need to upgrade because there’s an upgrade every year or two i know people can push this m4 to hard but i do loads with it and personally I can’t push it to its limits but I upgraded because my iMac couldn’t handle my workflow anymore and that was old intel from 2017 and it’s only just become a problem this year yes I have my m1 MacBook but that has only ever been my lay in bed watch films play music and for my personal life it’s not once been used to edit so I can’t compare my MacBook fully to it but on cinibench ect the m4 obviously smashes the m1 but my point is if your machine still dose the job hold off buying a new one because if you come from m3 to m4 you will most likely be disappointed especially m3 with 16gb ram coming to m4 with 16gb ram

Silent as a whisper and snappy
A lot has changed since the Mac mini M1 and to me the M4 is worth the upgrade, they removed firmware passwords and apparently the security is now locked to the iCloud / find my account. Apple intelligence is fun but not perfect but I didn’t get this for AIPros:how silent is it, even running steam games like Neva and using a PlayStation controller via Bluetooth the system stays silent during game play.I love screen share, being able to use my phone that’s got a tiny screen, on to the bigger screen with the Mac mini where I can use the keyboard to type out emails is amazing and flawless. Apps open fast, I was able to install a virtual machine and run windows 11.The Mac version of steam was easy to install and quite a few of my games are available for Mac OS.I am hoping that I can encode and edit videos in 4k but I’ve yet to try this, handbrake should run for encoding.I am using mine with a Logitech keyboard and the keyboard doesn’t really work well as many of the keys are not mapped but that’s not apples fault.More and more games are being added for Mac and it really is a power horse for running games. For the money it’s not cheap but the base model can handle pretty much anything I throw at it. It has many features in iOS that I am used to.I would list cons but I can’t find any. It’s easier to use than windows and I am a long time windows user. I brought the mac as I’m fed up of windows echo system and with intel because of intel ME and the security risks that poses from bad actors. You can run windows and windows app on this mac if you want to there are guides on YouTube and running windows in a virtual environment is more secure anyway and there’s an option to run Linux, I had to pay a tenner for the virtual software from the apple App Store. My windows systems in probably going to sell, there’s no need for it in my opinion anymore, handbrake runs on Mac, makemkv does, steam and you can install other browsers like beave if you want to.The Mac mini M4 doesn’t take up much space and barely makes a whisper if space is tight or you like to travel with your Mac, this is a game changer for real. I had a few things I couldn’t figure out how to use so I spoke to apple support who guided me through the settings in no time. Please be sure to enable the firewall when you set it up, it’s disabled by default apparently.I Debranded my Mac with a decal from Kikis Delivery service (see photo), sadly the Mac mini I brought didn’t have any apple stickers with it but you can’t win them all.

Unbelievable little powerhouse
A few years ago I bought the m1 MacBook Pro.I really thought Apple had made a mistake by providing so much power for so little value in terms of them being able to sell anything that was betterI was wrongThis Mac mini is the best value with bang for buck performance I’ve seen in the market. I use it for development when I don’t want to go to my office, and it packs a punch. Easily keeps up with my MacBook, and is even faster on some tasks.Fantastic really, tiny, quiet and great build quality.

Early review - but WOW
It's only 2 weeks in.Background - I am by modern standards a lightweight user - probably not stretching it at all.BUT - it's lightning fast.Incredibly small footprint on my desk - runs quiet and cool.At the current price point, I did a lot of research and don't see anything that comes close.OK - you either like MAC OS or you don't - as a longtime Macbook user - no problem to me - paired easily with my existing magic mouse and new magic keyboard. Plus with a couple of cheap USB C adaptors allowed me use some legacy items.Long term - who knows re reliability (will update) - but given past experience with Apple don't anticipate probs. All in all I cannot see how at the price point you will find a better desktop.BTW - I paired it with a BENQ 24 inch monitor (review to follow) - great visuals.Buy now before Apple realise they have underpriced this!!
