Affinity Photo Workbook

I had borrowed the same book from a friend to get an idea of whether it would be suitable for my needs and on that basis bought the book.It's written in plain simple English, easy to follow guidance and if you have experience of other photo editing software such as PS/LR it's an excellent reference as things are done slightly different in Affinity Photo.If you're new to Affinity Photo but don't have experience in image manipulation I'd suggest watching a good few tutorials first before thinking about getting this book or you might end up with a dusty, unused book.Likes:I like the keyboard shortcut cutouts at the back of the workbook which is useful if you use both a PC and a Mac.I also like the clearly illustrated and explained how-to's.It's a perfect companion for me and my Affinity software.

This is an excellent book that describes how the Affinity Software can be used to develop and enhance your photos taken with digital cameras. The Affinity programme does nothing to assist with indexing, storing and maintaining your photos that you have to load from your digital camera. You have to do your own thing in this respect and it is therefore totally different from Adobe products such as Elements or Lightroom. However both Windows and Macs now have good programmes that do enable photo library storage, but if you are used to Adobe products this makes the use of the programme different. I suspect that this omission enables the whole programme run much faster and is easier and more value for money than the Adobe products that now appear to always require some sort of on line subscription, which does not suit my requirements at all. This is why I have now changed to using this programme. I find this book has helped me a great deal to make this change to this better value for photo programme.

Book is well laid out, with great images, however could have gave you a little more detail on some of the features. quite often it's just a case of click here, here and here and tad-aah its done. It would be nice to have a little more information on why its done.Having said that i still no more about the program than i did before, so the book helped.

This book is perfect for learning techniques you may not have thought about, but you really need to be comfortable with general skills to get the most out of it

Just received the Book and have spent some time reviewing the structure and contents. Firstly i would like to say it is quality hard covered book printed on quality paper. It is unusual in that there are multiple highly experienced photo editing authors The book appears to be extremely well structured and answers most of the questions I have about the program. The descriptions of the editing tools, and how to use them are very clear. I especially like the multiple projects in the book that show you how to use the tools with real life images. The images for the projects are downloadable from the Web. The program is not simple having many of the features of Photoshop and I can certainly recommend the book to kickstart getting the best from Affinity Photo

This is a very beautiful book. It's more like a coffee table book than a work book, with high quality pages and a good hard back cover. Inside it is well laid out and covers everything I need to know about Affinity. It starts at a very basic level and works it's way up to more complicated edits, and images are provided for each example, which are downloaded from their website.I definitely recommend buying this workbook, it's useful for reference as well as for doing the projects. I think it's a really fun way of learning Affinity, because it's not a video! It's a good old fashioned text book.

Book arrived in good time and in good condition. This book contains an awful lot of information about this new editing program - so much so its going to take me quite a while to get to grips with it all. Every topic is nicely explained and laid out - far better than any of the books I had on my other programs, including Photoshop, its early days for me at the moment but am looking forward to a steady progress into this exciting program. Highly recommended

Sent book back and software as it was intermittently working

This book is so stuffed with knowledge! Lots of projects to follow along with, more than the other two workbooks - which I will say are excellent and definitely worth to buy if you can find them. Love reading through them all. Bought this one New and came sealed with no scratches <3 Thanks!!

I enjoyed reading this book it help me along with my photo project that I had started and never finished. The easy to follow instructions were nicely laid out in a way that made it informative

Bel libro di ottima fattura, scritto in inglese ma di facile comprensione, non è proprio un manuale ma riesce riesce ad essere le di aiuto per capire il funzionamento, soprattutto se si è abituati all’uso di Photoshop. Ovviamente non è indispensabile, la guida online di Affinity è sufficiente, sicuramente è un supporto in più.

Qué pena no haberlo comprado antes.

Excellent ouvrage, extrêmement détaillé, les images en couleurs sont parfaites, la qualité de l’impression et du papier sont absolument admirables. Les exemples et les détails des procédures sont expliqués sans ambiguïté, avec des pages détachables pour les raccourcis de clavier. Malheureusement, le livre existe uniquement en anglais...Je le recommande vivement, même pour le public français, avec un petit dictionnaire a côté !
