Excellent
This is an excellent 4K UHD disk on all accounts. Picture do look great, and while there is not Atmos here, the 5.1 is really good here. A must own release for fans of the movie.

Possibly the best film ever
This is a movie that just gets better with age, a movie that spawned many sequels, none of which can match the raw physicality that Arnold Schwarzenegger brings to his role. Schwarzeneger excels as Dutch, an inarticulate American Austrian bone head US special operations whatevertheck he is. But who cares, this is about something from outer space and he better kill it before it kills us all. And (spoiler alert) he does. But not before it has killed all of his men. And some green berets out of Fort Bragg, And some Central American peasants who manage to upset it by carrying machetes. This alien has no respect for the dead either, it's almost as if it is killing for sport and making trophies out of men, which happens a lot, especially when it's hot - apparently. No surprise, Arnie is the last man standing, and it's down to him to take the alien down. The head to head fight scene is just unparalleled in any Hollywood movie. There are pyrotechnics to rival a your local bonfire party, cutting edge special effects (Vic 20 / Dragon), green blood and mud, lots of mud, and leaves, lots of leaves and a big forest pig (Jeez that was scary, then funny then scary again - I liked what they did there). Arnie manages to skillfully build lots of stuff in the jungle from scratch thanks to a magical big knife that keeps returning to him after he repeatedly loses it. He even manages to survive a tactical nuclear explosion (oops sorry should have said spoiler alert) a mere 50m from ground zero, and don't forgot those naughty Russians or Cubans trying to export their brand of democracy to a banana republic dictatorship allied with the US - yeah Get Some !! But it's not like this is the first time you've seen this now is it? But you've got to see it again, and again and then make your kids watch it, and when your kids are old enough you make your grandkids watch it. Possibly the best film ever, so "Get to da choppah" before it's too late !

Awesome Collectable
This review is not really about the quality of the transfer and the quality of the 3D medium in which it is presented but more about collectable bust you get with this version. I have seen Predator hundreds of times and being a Predator fan it was not the Blu-ray that drew me to this item. When I saw this for pre-order I was totally blown away by the Predator head. Now we have seen a collectable Predator head before. In the wake of the Alien Quadrilogy 9 disc collectable Alien head, Predator, Predator 2 and Alien vs Predator got repackaged in a box set head of it's own. That item is much sought after by collectors and to find such an item on ebay you can expect to pay anywhere from £50.00 if you are lucky up to £150.00. The quality of that sculpture is not a patch on this release exclusively from Amazon. When I first saw this release I knew I had to have it. I was a bit dubious as the photos looked ok in some shots and a bit cheap in others. However, I knew that this being a limited edition would in time be worth it's weight in gold to fans and collectors alike and already there are people on ebay selling this for nearly £200.00. So is this really any good? In a word YES!! For the price on Amazon this is an extremely great bargain. Although I have yet to view the film itself as I do not have a 3D TV and Blu-ray player (I need to ask my mate very kindly to pop round his one night and watch it on his) the quality of the sculpt is better than I first thought. First up is the mask. It fits very well over the Predator's face and is held in place on the top of the head by 2 magnets concealed within the underside of the mask. This stops it from falling forward so there is no danger of it falling off accidently and breaking. It is also weathered very well giving it that used and abused look straight out of the movie. The only grievance I have is the masks eyes and tri-laser targeting system. It would have been a nice touch to have the masks eyes hollow and covered with a screen mesh rather than molded as part of the mask. The targeting lasers on the side of the mask suffer the same problem as it would have been nice to have red tinted clear plastic insets rather than what is molded there already but this is really being nit picky as over all it looks fantastic.Secondly the head itself. It is a descent enough sculpt and has a great paint job on the skin with some nice tones. The ringlets on the dreadlocks are molded as part of the dreadlock then painted. It would have been a more detailed look to have the ringlets as separate items and the same with the neck ring. When all said and done though what really makes this light years ahead of the other Predator Head release is the fact that it has a removable mask and that the dreadlocks, quills and teeth are all separate entities glued on individually making it more realistic. I would personally say that for the money you can't go wrong. If you are Predator fan this is an absolute must have just for the sculpture alone and when you compare this to something like a life size bust from Sideshow Collectables which would set you back around anywhere from 4 or 5 hundred Dollars to over one thousand Dollars the £90.00 price tag here is more than generous. If I had the money I'd buy another one to keep in mint condition for when the value increases with age. The disc itself will be worth nothing but this set as a whole is going to sky rocket in time. Buy your's now while you still can!

Great film with a sharp 4k transfer
Outside of his work with James Cameron, Predator might be Arnold Schwartenegger's finest work. The movie sees a group of commando's led by Dutch (Arnold) sent to a Central American jungle to rescue downed airmen from guerillas, however they are stalked and hunted one by one by a alien entity that can turn itself invisible. What makes Predator so great is just how easy it is to watch. The combination of action and larger than life characters makes the 100 or so minutes fly by every time you watch it. The film is probably the most macho movie ever made which works so well for the style of film Predator is. You get the great one liners, you get the great action, and you get an excellent creature design that spawned a franchise. The 4k transfer is the real winner though. The original grain is brought back, but not at the expense of any detail. Colours are more vivid and the picture is sharp. This is a far better transfer than the previous blu-ray transfer, and feels more like how Predator should be watched than that release. The audio remains similar, and there are no additional extras, but if you are a fan of Predator, then i would recommend the 4K release over the blu-ray any day of the week
