These stools with rectangular seats are exactly what I was looking for, because the round or square ones would take up more walking space in my little kitchen counter area.The stools were easy to put together, I just took my time and made sure I had everything laid out and had an idea in advance of where every piece went. I have come to enjoy putting my furniture together because 1.)I can see how it is made and 2.)I really dislike buying something already put together and then trying to get it home without damaging or scratching something, such as my car, the walls & doorways and the new furniture itself.Not a big deal but I feel it should be noted that the chairs have an adjustable step area. I sat on the stool with the fasteners in place to make sure I was selecting the right setting. You actually have to disassemble that cross piece and reattach it to the new location, so I checked while I still had the tool handy in case I had to change it.The seat is actually bigger than it looked in the pictures, and I love the handle on the back, makes it easy to move the chairs around. I thought the seat might be uncomfortable but it's really not. The woodgrain surface has a texture and seems thick and sturdy. I don't feel like the color could wear away or scratch easily unlike some manufactured wood products I’ve owned in the past. I also love the metal frame, kind of gives an industrial or minimalist vibe! I'm also very pleased with how well they fit in my kitchen, and how comfortable they are.Recommended!

First off, I want to say that these require full assembly but they do give you a great assembly guide and it is a very nice one with pictures.As for the stools themselves, they look exactly like the picture and they are aesthetically appealing. Once together, they are in fact very sturdy and having the adjustable footrest is a huge plus; I am 5’4 and needed the option for medical reasons.My only complaint, which is why I removed a star, is that the seats are very uncomfortable if you're wearing shorts. The top part of the seat is VERY SHARP around the edges. I couldn't even slide off the chair, I had to grab something to put under the back of my legs just to get up. No joke. This isn't real wood so the idea of filing those edges down is not an option. You will have to have jeans or some other thicker fabric, in my opinion.When I put pants on, I had no issues with getting up or down on them. I just don't feel like I should have to put pants on to sit on a stool if you know what I mean. I will try to find some sort of covering for the edges because I really like wearing shorts around the apartment.

Assembly instruction is pretty clear, it wasn't too difficult to follow along and to complete in decent amount of time. I do find that the last middle bar was not comfortable at all in the suggested slot, so I omitted the last middle bar for comfort.I do find the material to be on the cheaper side, the surface has rather sharp edges and you can feel the corners digging into your skin as you sit on it. It definitely is giving...wayfair or walmart quality chair.

We have an island that has a large granite overhang on each end creating additional space for sitting at the island in the kitchen. This is perfect for our two kids to be in the kitchen eating while I am cleaning or baking. Sometimes they like to sit at the island and help with whatever activities I’m working on. It’s also a great spot for them to do their homework after school. It’s allows them to work independently but be within range for me to help them if needed while I’m cooking dinner. They were very comfortable for the kids. As an adult, I wouldn’t want to sit on the wood seat for a long period of time, but it would work for short coffee visits with your friends or hanging out For a little bit before other guests arrive or after the guests leave from any type of party. Generally speaking, any additional seating I can have at the house is great. We have people over all the time and whether they’re inside or outside, we always seem to need more chairs. the color didn’t really go well with the kitchen decor. However, I think I can spray paint these frames white and keep the woodgrain of the seat and have a fantastic solution that fits in with the existing furniture.

These are by far my favorite item in my kitchen. These stools are not beautiful. Simple and easy to assemble- very sturdy!
