This is a keeper!
I saw the Asvine J16 on the Doodlebud channel and as soon as I saw it I know I had to have it. You may ask why, as it is a pretty normal cigar-shaped fountain pen. Well the main reasons are that it is all made I titanium and it has a Jowo nib: for the first time we have an Asvine with a Jowo nib. Don’t get me wrong, the Asvine nibs are great and I have a few, but having a Jowo nib it means that you can swap any other Jowo nib you may own like Edison Pens or Franklin-Christoph special grinds.Packaging & Accessories: 10/10Asvine doesn’t disappoint: you get a plastic box with a wrench and pamphlet with instructions: very well madeAesthetics & Quality 10/10Again, you may say that it is a lain cigar shaped pen. It is, but it is extremely well made. Nice springy clip, with a cartouche at the end of the cap with “Asvine” stamped on it and “J16” in the back. The piston nob is super smooth. The pen is not small, but it sits in the hand extremely well. You can choose between a solid titanium finish or a brushed titanium finish: I went to the former mainly because I have plenty of brushed finished pens and also I didn’t want to spend the additional $4 on the brushed finish. I also think the solid finish is less prone to scuffs. Anyway, I am very happy with the solid titanium finish. As said, the pen feels solid in the hand, well constructed,Nib and writing quality 10/10The nib unscrews for replacement and maintenance. Being a Jowo nib, you have plenty of options if you want to replace it with something fancier. The nib is a great performed out of the box: it wrote immediately and it is super smooth: it just glides on paper. The nib is marked as “F” fine. Asvine offers all nib measures: EF, F, M, and B. You can knock yourself out!Weight and Dimensions: 10/10The pen is awesome. I never had the same feeling I had taking the J16 in the hand: it felt just right. Not too long, not too short, not too heavy but not light. The section is just the right measure for me. Just pure perfection!Cost & Value: 8/10The price is a little high for a Chinese pen. The pen is $55.99 for the solid finish and $59.99 for the brushed finish. Is it worth it? Well, I think the short answer is “yes”. Would I liked to be a little cheaper? Sure, but this is a keeper in my book. Conclusion: (48/50)Great new addition to the Asvine family: beautifully constructed pen and a solid performer. I think this might be the best pen I have so far.

This is the one!
This is a nice pen. I have almost 100 fountain pens in my collection and this one is probably the nicest (unless you were looking for a pocket pen. That's another topic.)So what do I like about this pen? The shape and mat finish make it comfortable to hold, more than any other metal pens I have tried. It looks nice without being gaudy. The Jovo nib writes very well. I haven't tried it, but I suspect that you could trade out the nib with another Jovo.I like the weight. It might be a bit much for a shirt pen, but the size and moderate weight are ideal for a desk pen. Some people might compare this pen with the (discontinued) Moonman Ti500. I think the J16 is clearly better because it is comfortable in my hand, it has an ink window, and the price is a bit less.Compared with the European brands- If you didn't know where the pens came from and what they cost, you might choose this one over a pen that costs many times as much.I really can't think of anything to criticize about this pen. A YouTube reviewer said that his dries out a bit if he doesn't use it for two weeks. I doubt that I will ever go that long without using this pen. It's my favorite.

Wonderful Titanium Piston Fountain Pen with JoWo Nibs (and great customer service)
Like other reviewers I saw Doodlebud's review on YouTube and decided to give it a try as he is an engineer who is not so easy to please. I have to agree with him (and Vincenzo's review on Fountain Pen Therapy) that it is a wonderful pen. The titanium with brushed surface feels great. It is not near as heavy as I imagined, but then again I also own a Birmingham Model-C in Stainless Steel. I have had mostly great experiences with Asvine. I am happy that they are usually original and thinking about pens that are a pleasure to use, but also seem as if they are built to last. The J16 certainly is a good example of that. I just inked mine with a Night Time Soda (Guitar Inks) and am loving how the JoWo nib dances away on the page. The nib is perfect and the Brushed surface makes it a pleasure to hold. Very well packed and super-fast international shipping. Customer service from Sally was superb. All good. Thanks.

Good pen & great nib. A polished Titanium version might be nice.
Very nice size and heft. I like the weight & size and the Jowo nib is a treat. Lovely writer & great value!

Ergonomic, well built, and super smooth
I love this pen as much as others in my collection at 4-times the price. The nib is exceptionally tuned, nice and smooth. The titanium gives it a nice heft, but it’s still not too heavy. And the piston mechanism is just as smooth as the nib. Highly recommend this one.

Can't recommend.
It's pretty and feels good in the hand. It also has the worst seal I've ever seen on a fountain pen. So much it makes it completely unusable for me.

My new favorite fountain pen.
I'm a fan of Asvine pens. My first one was a P20 in Galaxy Blue (with a Fine nib), which I love, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on the J16.The titanium pen feels substantial in my hand, but not heavy at all for long sessions of writing. I do not use it posted (I don't like doing that with piston fillers), but it does post securely. Some people seem to like the looks of the brushed titanium version, but I like my metals shiny and glossy. In spite of that, it doesn't feel slick at all while writing or sketching. The filling mechanism glides effortlessly, and the only thing smoother than that is writing with the Jowo nib. Even though I ordered one with an EF nib (the equivalent of a Japanese F), it's for all intents and purposes smooth as butter, with only a slight feedback. I'm using it with Noodler's Lexington Gray, BTWI read somewhere that it's possible to purchase Jowo nibs separately, which is cool. The J16 has become my favorite pen, but definitely not the last Asvine that I'll buy.
