1950s Glamour (20th Century Pin-ups) Paperback – 7 Nov. 2010

A beautiful book in the series, nothing to offend the modern eye, outstanding black and white shots with a similar amount of colour photographs as well, i will admit to some mouthwatering moments as i looked through, this wont be a book that will sit gathering dust on a shelf.The only issue that i have and feel would of made the book complete would of been some detail if it had been availible, year of picture, models name, measurements etc, but that is a personal issue and does not distratc from the book or what it represents in relation to our ever changing tastes, the more things change the more they stay the same.

Excellent photos. Beautifully done from an age gone by. The rest of the series hopefully are just as good. Great buy.

Wow, almost 300 pages of 1950s glamour, colour and B/W photography, very stylish poses and vintage lingerie, I'm a big fan of vintage glamour and this book is awesome, the book size is a little weird, about 9x9 inches. Previous reviews have mentioned the lack of public hair on some models, saying it's been photoshopped out, removal of the hair was common back then, this was due to censorship reasons, the photos in the book are reproduced from the original prints, I've have a few vintage glamour magazines from this era and they have the exact same pictures, no extra editing has been done as far as I can see.My one criticism is the lack of information about each model, it would have been nice to have their names.

This,along with the 60's and 70's editions are a great addition to any collection of tasteful girly/pin-up books covering the latter days of pin-up magazines as opposed to the hardcore productions of today - nicely priced and well produced - would reccommend.

..as I brought it as a gift for a friend who wanted something of the era as research material for a play he is writing and he has not complained!

Interesting changes in photo styles.

All pictures as been photoshoped to remove pussy hair!! Why?! Also, many picture look like a fake.

Playboy is coming up on its 60th anniversary. In the 50's Playboy was considered raunchy with its Playmates of the Month where glimpses of boobs and buns occurred. The women in these photos seductively present their feminine loveliness to the camera. The female form is celebrated in every picture.

50年代のピンナップ・ガールズ・コレクション。ヌード写真集だけど意外にヘア出しはなし。標準的な日本の写真集よりも判型は小さめ、でも頁数がやたら多い、300頁もありやがる。これだけいればお気に入りが見つかるかもしれませんなどと無責任なことを言うのも憚られるほどモデルの質が低い。殆どオバチャン、中にはお婆さんと言いたくなるような人までいます。体も胸がやたらにデカくてバランス悪いのが多いし、いかにレトロ好きでもちょっとオススメは出来ません。そうは言ってもそう悪いばかりな筈がありません。一生懸命探してみましたよ。たとえばP19やP23の乳出しネグリジェ、P27フレディ・マーキュリー、P29ドリュー・バリモア、P42上品な奥様のオールヌード、P70ビキニで朗らかに笑う二重あごのおねえさん、P104〜P107キレイなおねえさん（表紙のオバサンも含む）P127上半身裸でフェンシング・コスプレ、P140マリリン・モンローのオールヌード、P172やP242の透け透け着崩し、そしてP263清楚なシースルーネグリジェおねえさん（この人は本当に綺麗）など良い頁も無理に探せばあります。ちなみにマリリンやドリューは本物なわけありませんから真に受けないでくださいね。でもフレディはたぶん本物。（もしかしたら違うかも。プリンスかもしれない）
