Breathe to the max
Definitely powerful enough for anyone! The amount of resistance is somewhat above anyones need, but with a little practice it becomes doable to use it for workout purposes. The full resistance is not likely ever to be achieved, but that doesn't stop one from taxing one's breathing musculature to the max and develop accordingly. There is a scientific publication on the website where athletes have used it for some months and have increased their breathing capacity. I had myself tested before and after use of the device and have increased my maximum ventilation by 15% (200 to 230L/min). I did not follow the instructions given, and only used once daily for 5-6 days/week for 3 sets of 10 breaths.

Every person should have their own! If you’re an elite athlete, weekend athlete or even a couch potato- these are the best! I have been an er nurse fore 35 years and I increase the use of mine in cold and flu season. I love it for skiing as well as cycling and paddle boarding. Some may be surprised at what breathing- training, can do for performance and endurance

I bought my first powerlung 10plus years ago, it's held up well, but I have lost a piece due to my infant son. I bought a second one due to their rediculous protocol on replacement parts, mailing it back and fees. My other gripe is the difficulty cleaning it. It is a chore, and imo should be done each time. Then they suggest buying their cleaner, I have not done this, but just use fresh water and my fingers to manually clean it then semi dry with a paper towel. Getting the exact same reading for resistance is then a chore. I have used it sporadically, but when I use it regularly I do feel a difference in exercise capacity. If one is any type of fighter, I would suggest buying and using this. The current instructions imo seem less than desirable for a fighter. I would modify the protocol to be more specific, like 25-50breaths of 3-5secs in and 2 secs out, for 2-5rds, 2-4x wk. I did notice a higher ability to take punishment to the body, I attribute this to the more conditioned core muscles that could take more punishment and spasm less after taking body shots. The current suggestion for usage is imo not worth it unless your goal is to blow up water bladders. Maximal strength is not my goal for my lungs, it's muscular endurance. With regular use I believe this drops my run times as well. If you've done 400m splits you know what I'm talking about, your lungs feel likely to burst on the last 200m. If you want peak performance buy it and use it. Get a better routine as well, imo one closer to the demands of your sport. pros *greater conditioning *greater ability to take punishment to the body cons *cleaning - for sanitation and health I do each time - slow, regular, dissassembly then reassembly, they suggest their cleaning product *parts replacement requires sending back entire product with a fee of about 1/3 the product *hard to get exact resistance if one reassembles or changes *bad routine suggestion

I'm getting ready for Army Basic Training, so obviously I'm doing a ton of cardio to prepare. I was already in shape before buying this, but after I started using this I have noticed a considerable difference in my lung capacity and how hard I'm breathing. I go hike a TOUGH mountain trail near my house at least twice a week and I can definitely notice a difference in how much less effort I'm putting in to breathing, as well as my legs even burning - which I think is due to my body oxygenating so much better. Definitely recommend it if you play any type of sports, you're military/future military, or you just enjoy staying fit.

This will increase your breathing efficiency if you use it continuously. However, it kinda leaks air, which defeats the purpose when you are trying to use it for resistance. It also gets nasty and saliva builds up inside it very often.

Great breathing trainer and workout so far. I started using the power lung sport about two weeks ago and I can already tell the difference in my breathing while running. I had never even thought of training my lungs but as a distance runner it makes sense. I'm hoping this will help take me to the next level.
