Kayalu Gear Toughbar 10.5-Inch extension arm

I bought the Kayalu Gear 10.5" toughbar because I didn't want my phone directly in my field of view while driving when using the RAM car mount. I wanted the phone to be visible and usable without being "in the way." The toughbar did the trick and it is now mounted to the left my of my steering wheel, out of my view, and still out of the way during driving. The only reason why this review did not get 5-stars is because the extension arm makes it a bit shaky on bumpy roads, despite driving a very smooth vehicle (2012 Buick Verano). I was able to eliminate MOST of the shaking by letting the extension arm rest on my dash-board, but it doesn't take everything away. But, the convenience of being able to mount the entire system exactly where I want was more important than some vibration in the mount. If you have a car that you'd consider to be a "rough ride", I would try using the RAM mount without the extension first to see if you can utilize it without an extension. However, if you NEED an extension, this is probably the one you'll want.

This product does lack some of the finer polish that I would expect from a product in this price range. However if you need to extend your RAM mount this extension bar will fit your needs.It consists of an extension bar and two 1" ram balls on each side. The quality of the ram balls are what you have come to expect from RAM balls. They grip whatever you want firmly and there is has no noticeable give. I have found two uses for this extension bar but there are probably limitless applications. So far I've used it with my go-pro camera to get more flexibility on angles. This is especially useful for helmet mounted applications. I've also been using it with a RAM cell phone mount so that my cell phone is in a good position in my car.What I am very impressed with is the company's commitment to customer service. If you have any issues with your mount don't hesitate to reach out to Kayalu and they will do whatever they need to resolve your issue.

this is an excellent extension arm for ram mounting systems, i use it for a camera mount on my motorcycle and its a little shaky in the video but it is fixable with video editing programs. would work even better for someone mounting a laptop mount in a car or mounting a gps or something.

light weight extension. good enough to do the job it has to do. a bit irritated by black sleeve wobbling a bit on the rod. Would be much better if shrink tube applied. However this is a good thing that I would recommend.

I Bought Both the 10.5", & the 32" (With Light) & They are Perfect for A Camera, on A Kayak, & it sits tightly & securely...Easily Folds down, & out of the way when it's not needed, or even removed...

Great product.

After using these for a while, I've discovered that the rubber on the balls tends to compress and cause the clamps to loose grip, so much so that they aren't really adequate to hold the weight of a full-size tablet.

Worked great with my RAM mounting stuff. Allowed me to put my tablet in perfect reach mounted in my 4Runner.
