Stephen King Dark Tower Collection 8 Books Set (1 To 8 Books Set)

To be clear, I'm reviewing the eight book bundle here, not the individual books. There's no point in me discussing the plots and so on in a bundle release: if you're a Stephen King fan, you'll understand that The Dark Tower is kind of the 'spine' of the multiverse in which all of Stephen King's stories exist linking to many other books he's written down the years. I've been working my way through all the other books necessary to enjoy this series to the full, including The Stand, The Talisman, 'Salem's Lot, The Eyes of the Dragon, Everything's Eventual and others. Later on, I'll need to read Insomnia, Hearts in Atlantis and Black House. This bundle includes all eight Dark Tower books - volumes I-VII and the later book, The Wind Through the Keyhole, which fits between books IV and V. The covers all carry a printed image promoting the 2017 movie. The movie flopped, so I guess there were lots of books carrying the promotional labels to get rid of, given the movie won't have boosted sales of the series as much as hoped (should have used stickers that could be peeled off!!) As of 2021, there's a TV adaptation in the works, so more reason to sell off the books with movie labels, I guess! I bought this set well aware of what I was getting. The seller also has a seven-book set that doesn't include the movie promotion on the covers and is missing The Wind Through the Keyhole. Given it's the same price as this bundle, I suspect some people who have expressed irritation here ordered the wrong bundle or were sent the wrong bundle. The books in my bundle are new, unread and in excellent condition, so I'm very pleased to be able to start reading them. As of April 2021 the individual books with this cover design (with or without movie promo) will cost you about £71 on Amazon UK, so I've saved £21 in this deal. Buying them individually in a bookshop will cost over £80.

Lovely edition of the boxed set of the Dark Tower series. Arrived in good condition. I like the colours and style of the books. The overall theme works well and is continued on the box. Paper and printing is of good quality too. The only thing that is slightly annoying is there is a round “see the motion picture” sticker on the front of every book. Except, it’s not actually sticker and you can’t peel it off. I’d prefer it if this wasn’t there. Minor inconvenience, but there you go. I typically avoid Stephen King TV or film adaptations as they are usually dreadful, but hey ho. Would make a great gift for any Stephen King fan. I bought this for myself as I keep meaning to finish the books and never get time to do it. Now I’ve not got any excuses! Looks nice on the bookshelf too. I did notice a slight scuff on the inside of the box but I think I may have done that. Overall, I’m very happy with this set and would recommend it.

Good set for your money, only issue I have are whilst reading the 1st book some off the pages were stuck together and were hard to pry apart without tearing. Fingers crossed rest of books aren't like it

These 8 books look amazing in their collection box, initially reading the first book can feel a little slow and hard, this is typical of Stephen King for new and accustomed reader's, the following books read easier and more smoothly, whilst maintaining the in-depth character and location style you expect, a great read that builds throughout the story, for those that have watched the film, these books will greatly increase your fondness of the story as well introduce you to far more than the film offers in its couple of hours - I believe you won't regret your purchase.

Nice set of paper backs. I saw the film and it didn't look like the books i read many years ago. So was happy to find the full set on Amazon. I always remember them as being a good story

This book series changed the way I read books. It also set the bar so high that no other series I have read can come close to what those characters made me feel in 7 books. To those of you who read this short review and wonder is this series worth the investment? Hell yes it is! I wish you all long days and pleasant nights.

What can I say? It's books, they got text in them, they look nice on my book shelf, and the story is a must-have for any Stephen King fan. Probably the most daring, comprehensive work, with a bunch of characters, you can only but love, even the baddies. You laugh, cry, shiver in horror, awe all through this deeply fascinating story line. To put it simply, there is no book series like this one. So if you love to emerge yourself en a long, ongoing, relentless and mind blowing fantasy - read these books

The pictures dont correspond with the actual cover of the books, in these there's a circle with 'Watch the major motion film'. The books themselves are fine.

It’s nice to have the whole collection, however it’s ruind with “see the major motion picture” comment printed (not a sticker) on all the covers. It ruins the whole collection.

MY HUSBAND REALLY LOVED THE SET. IT CAME BUBBLE WRAPPED AND IN GREAT SHAPE.
