okay for 4 yrs
It was all good except after 4 yrs it started making "clicking" noises when it was plugged in and also i broke off the usb port. the usb cord stopped working after 4 yrs. It worked despite dropping it on the floor. It's good for backing up files you already have saved on another hardrive.

Very Pleased
I have used this little guy for the past 3 years for making back ups of all my photos, documents and other goodies. I DO NOT use it for anything "bootable." I basically drag and drop my files onto this drive and that is how I back up my stuff. Archaic to some, I know, but it works for me. My husband bought me a Seagate 1TB external hard drive and I really dislike that one. This SimpleTech is so much easier to use if all you want is to have extra copies of pictures of your kids and travel.

good for backing up
I use this to backup all my photos and music. It has enough space to save 3000+ full res wedding photos, and still counting.
