Universal Audio Apollo Twin X DUO Gen 2 Studio + Edition Thunderbolt 3 Audio Interface

I recently purchased the Apollo Twin X, and I am absolutely impressed! The sound quality is incredibly clean and detailed, with outstanding depth and a wide stereo image. The UAD plugins run flawlessly, and the built-in DSP processors handle audio processing without putting any strain on my computer. The design is sleek, the build quality is excellent, and the controls are conveniently placed. Setup was quick and easy, and it works perfectly with my MacBook M1 Pro 16. This is a truly professional tool that inspires creativity and takes your music production to the next level. Highly recommend it to anyone who values top-notch sound quality!

The Universal Audio Apollo Twin Duo Gen 2 generates quality sound. Like many people today, my "Studio" is in a bedroom. I purchased the Apollo Twin Duo to replace my Apollo Solo. The Solo is also a good and reliable interface. However, after recording guitar and bass on the Apollo Twin Duo Gen 2 the recording quality was significantly better than the Solo's. UA provides a UAD-2 plug-in package with this interface. I purchased the Studio+ edition which comes with 50+ plugins. The essentials package, the other alternative with the Apollo Twin Duo Gen 2 comes with a substantial number of UAD-2 plug-ins similar to those of the Studio+ package. I use the Apollo Twin Duo Gen 2 on my Mac Mini Pro with the M2 processor and the OS is Sequoia 15.3 -- Apples most current operating system. The Apollo is fully compatible with my MAC. I definitely recomment this.

For the finest audio interface in existence, this is the one to save up for and obtain.

Well worth every penny - just what I was looking for. The sound quality is amazing and easy to work with. Knowing what I know now - I probably would’ve paid a bit more for the x4 though.

I always wait a while for reviews in general to really give you guys who come around the product a more in-depth and honest review; well to put it in your face this interface is worth the hype. It's very, very easy to use and a great flex for any home studio. It can get hot, but never overheats, causes odd recording problems, or just doesn't wanna work and of course that could change and depend on how heavy your plugin chain is and how long your going with recording but I personally do long 2-3 hour recording sessions and haven't been disappointed yet. I also was told that's normal from the Apollo, that's why it's designed to have abunch of pockets on the back, so yes go for it and buy. LOVE YOU APOLLO ❤️!!

This has always been my dream interface. I saved for many months to purchase however item received was defective. Box did not include thunderbolt cable and as such I was unable to test item when received. This took some time and oh boy I was happy to plug it in to test it finally, only to be greeted by gritty, distorted signal in my headphones. I thought it had to be a connection problem. I tried every single jack only to get same result. At this point I reach out to seller to return which they advised they are unable to do due to time frame. I was mindblown to the fact that I spent so much on an interface and it isn't working? I then reached out to amazon for a solution for a refund as the item was not working at all. Amazon was unable to provide assistance in this matter and declined my a-z guarantee. Now I am stuck with a non working interface wit no-one to provide a solution. With my many years of being an amazon customer, this has been the most disappointing and stressful purchase I have ever made and I will not recommend purchasing of this interface, at least through amazon.

The workflow has been leveled up smoothly. Sound quality is the best. A bit expensive but better quality than the others at market.

Después de estar batallando una semana para poder activarla por fin puedo usarla. La instalación fue un tremendo dolor de cabeza, tuve que guiarme de videos en YouTube. En comparación con mis antiguas interfaces donde el proceso fue más sencillo (solo instalar, conectar y activar). Debería funcionar solo instalando el UA Connect con los complementos de la interface y activarla ahí mismo. Es una interface con excelente calidad de construcción (por no decir la mejor de las que he probado hasta ahora, parecida a la Zen Go) y su diseño es muy bueno, además la facilidad de uso porque todo está claramente distribuido para que sea muy intuitiva. El sonido es decente pero no el mejor, no escucho una diferencia que justifique lo que me costó frente a la Antelope Zen Go por menos de la mitad hace 5 años. Lo que puedo destacar es que las frecuencias graves son un poco más definidas pero el panorama estéreo es más pequeño. Las frecuencias agudas son limpias (pero siento que ciertos sonidos como los hi hats, platillos, efectos, etc lastiman un poco) y las frecuencias medias son menos definidas, además con esta interface no es tan clara la posición de los instrumentos y voces (no puedo diferenciar cuando un sonido esta adelante o detrás de otro con tanta facilidad). En verdad, se siente como si todas las canciones fueran casi planas (sin una buena distribución 3D, incluso en mi celular logro percibir la profundidad y separación), al escuchar música no la disfruto de la misma manera, caso contrario a la Zen Go donde parecía como si estuviera escuchando el concierto en vivo por que todo suena más grande, más abierto, con profundidad y definición. Algo que si puedo destacar es que lo que sea que esté escuchando tiene un volumen más alto que otras interfaces al grado que tengo que activar el botón DIM de la interface y el sensitivity a 0 en mis monitores, caso contrario con la Zen Go que tenía que subir el volumen más de la mitad y activar el sensivity de mis monitores a +6dB. El hecho de tener que comprar un cable que ''debería'' estar incluido me hace pensar en el ecosistema de Apple donde te venden un producto incompleto para que pagues por las demás cosas (cosa que no debería ser así y menos cuando hablas de un producto que en teoría es ''profesional'' y de un precio elevado). Algo a considerar es que se calienta demasiado, el simple hecho de que esté conectada ya hace que se caliente aún sin estarla usando (grabando o escuchando audio). Si no vas a usar los preamps para grabar, el procesamiento DSP y ya tienes sus plugins yo me iría por una Antelope (que son más económicas y para mi gusto las superan en calidad de audio). Alguien que ya haya tenido Antelope notará fácilmente la diferencia en audio y sabrá a lo que me refiero. Esta interface está dirigida para alguien que quiere dar un salto de principiante a intermedio en un todo en uno (calidad decente de audio, salidas extras para procesar el audio en hardware externo, plugins profesionales y procesamiento DSP para no saturar su PC si no tiene tanta capacidad). No digo que suene mal pero si tenía expectativas muy altas ya que todo mundo habla siempre maravillas de las interfaces de UA y sobre todo de esta nueva generación que en teoría mejoró bastante su calidad de audio (la que probé de otra generación muchos años atrás tampoco me gustó).
