3B ScientificA13/1 Sam the Super Skeleton w/ hanging roller stand - 3B Smart Anatomy

Although very expensive, Sam is a wonderful study tool for gross anatomy. While some schools may have skeleton models, Sam is by far better than any I've seen before. I use him mainly to study the insertions and origins of muscles. It is also useful to use string or ribbon to mimic the pathways of nerves and arteries, which helps with visualization in 3D as opposed to drawing pathways in 2D. Being able to see the ligaments and spinal nerves is another bonus because such structures are hard to see on actual cadavers. I couldn't have gotten a better skeleton!

The plastic is much more flimsy than I expected, and the way it was packed had badly bent and distorted the arms and legs. Not the quality it should be for the price, and I'm returning it... so I do not recommend buying this product. I'm ordering one from Axis Scientific and will give an update on its quality once I have it.Update: I received the Axis Scientific skeleton, and am very happy with the quality. It is much better than 3-B - for a substantially less amount of $. Will be going with Axis for all future purchases of anatomy models!

After reviewing and talking with other colleagues and researching, I made the investment into this replica of a full-size male adult skeleton. Love all the detail of the origins and insertions of ligaments and tendons. Excellent teaching tool for patients as well.

When I first received this skeleton, I thought it was great and realized the rubber representing the joints was restricting the movement of the joints. I thought the rubber would loosen over time. Well, some split and tore and others are so stiff there is no movement in the joint at all. I would love to contact the manufacturer and get replacement parts. but haven't figured out how to do that. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING THIS SKELETON if you want it to show movement.

I asked if the skeleton has the name of each bone written on it and was told 'yes'. However it doesn't, there are no names anywhere on the model and the only reason I purchased this was for ease of reference to the name of a specific bone.This product includes a flimsy reference pamphlet to look up the name of each part... which I can easily do for free via Google.

The item was left in the rain and the legend got wet. Wasn't given another booklet but was given regular sized paper copy. Not as nice. The muscles are numbered on the skeleton - some are hard to read - some are mismarked - as my first skeleton I am quite happy with it. As I advance in my career I could see purchasing one with more detail and of course a bigger price tag.

Was easy to put together and to move around as needed. Easier to learn with this. Durable material.

Ordered this skeleton to Europe and received a very small package saying that the it includes the skeleton but it had a garden hose inside instead. It is a scam because nobody can do this by accident.
