Charming and Fun!
My sister and I are getting on in years and we no longer crave sweets or candy for Christmas. But, she’s alone now and I wanted to get her something to delight her for the holidays.I know she likes crystals, although I don’t know much about them. So, when I saw this affordable little Advent Calendar gift kit with crystals all the colors of the rainbow, I thought of her immediately. The graphics are charming and there are little descriptions of the different types of stones. I couldn’t actually get into the box to see what everything looked like, since everything is setup to be opened only one day at a time. But I’m hoping they are good size and colors. This is a really fun idea!

Mixed shapes, mixed thoughts
The rough and tumbled stones are generously sized, though they are generally low-grade specimens. The shaped stones (“wands”) are smaller than their compartments would lead one to expect, and one of them was a so-called “watermelon red” (a dyed glass that may or may not include some quartz). I received a white stone with a minute patch of black: it may be a poor example of zebra jasper, or it could be an unusual specimen of howlite. The tumbled tiger's eye, although large, is mainly rock matrix and has only a sliver of the cat's eye effect on one of the 6 sides. The shaped amethyst and amethyst pendant necklace are particularly low grade specimens with the palest of purple tints in what otherwise looks like clear quartz. The other specimens seem to be average or above average grade (see photos to judge for yourself). There were no missing stones - however, some of the small shaped stones had shifted into other stones’ compartments. If this is given as a gift, I advise opening the box and checking the placement of the contents. This is easier said than done: although the insert has a plastic backing I found it difficult to slide the insert out of the carton. I also think the size of the box could be reduced if the compartment spacing was optimized. The legend itself contains some duplicates: for example, there are descriptions and photos of flower, tumbled, shaped, and rough amethyst. Most descriptions are entirely composed of metaphysical characteristics; dalmation jasper's description contains geological properties. The picture of amazonite does not appear to be correct, so either the photo is wrong or the stone's name is incorrect. Some of the carton's doors have pre-cut corners to facilitate opening them.I was able to identify most of the stones, although I am less confident of the “blue spot jasper” and “yellow jade” - I don't have reliably genuine specimens of these stones to compare against the advent calender's versions. There is one stone I could not accurately identify. Note that the "watermelon red" is a dyed glass that may or may not contain some quartz; I've also seen it referred to as "cherry quartz".This advent calendar contains additional content: a magnifying glass, velvet drawstring pouch, two decorative braided rope things (to create jewelry), and three necklaces. The price ($24.99 at the time of my order) seems reasonable for 24 large stone specimens + extras when compared to other gemstone advent calendars.Note: if it is not clear from the product listing's description, this calendar kit may contain the same type of stone in different forms (shaped, tumbled, or rough). The assortment of stones (type and shape) could be different between two kits. Additionally, a given rock or mineral's appearance can vary greatly from specimen to specimen.

Advent calendar
I honestly bought this and completely opened it within the first go, but it’s so cute! I can definitely see it being fun to do as you move along each day getting to see what’s where. You also get ALOT of gems and little jewelry pieces to wear. My genuine only complaint is that someone of the boxes were empty while others had 2-3 gems in them. All of the gems were there by the end of things just I can imagine being very disappointed opening it day by day and having empty boxes certain days and believing you’ve missed out for the time being.

Small stones with duplicates
This is a nice advent calendar, especially for those who like collecting earth stones. The issues I have with this set is the fact that the photos in the description show larger stones, what I received were rather small. Also, my set has a lot of duplicates, which again is different from the description photos. Had I known most of this set would be double stone types, I would not have ordered this one. This set comes with "wands", polished stones, natural stones, a small plastic magnifying glass, a small black sack, 2 braided rope necklaces ( to put a stone in) and 1 bracelet with small pebbles on it.The photos show 4 rope necklaces, I received only 2, so the description and photos are extremely misleading. The box has punch out "windows" that are numbered- numbers are NOT in order- from 1 to 24 with another window that says " get ready for a surprise!".The door of the box has pictures and descriptions of different stones which you would have to find the corresponding stone in your set as these are not numbered. There is 1 stone in the set I received that has no photo or information about it,I mean, the set is cool and I'm sure kids wouldn't mind having a bunch of duplicates, depending on the kid... But I myself am not impressed.

A creative advent calendar with gems
I ordered this gem advent calendar because I have a daughter who is interested in gems and geology. I only opened two doors to see what the gems look like (because I want to leave the rest for her to open), but I am impressed with this and I recommend it. It would make a fun gift.

Perfect for us because of a granddaughter who love rocks like these.
My wife and I have enjoyed Advent calendars ever since we were children and our families had special wooden "calendars" that were refilled each year. We've had such calendars with our kids and now we're raising grandkids with the custom. We're a family who cares deeply about the faith story of the season, but it's always been fun to find a little treasure or treat or chocolate inside an Advent "door" as a way to mark the season.Right now, we've got a granddaughter who loves colorful rocks and minerals like this. It will be perfect for her. We're 5-star happy with this.
