So many uses for this doorbell/intercom unit. Initially intended as a fixed doorbell and a roving receiver. The device is ideal for someone who needs to carry the receiver around from room to room, or as I have done, use it while I'm in the garden and away fro the house.The other option I found useful was to have the doorbell unit in the house, while I carried the receiver into my workshop. My wife can now contact me easily ... time for dinner ... etc. or, there's a phone call for you. I can even imagine that an elderly person would find this useful to screen callers at the front door.The range is a little optimistic, especially if there are obstacles in the way while having a conversation. Brick walls, fences and similar can reduce the range. However. In our house I was able to have a clear conversation from the ground floor to a second floor bedroom. Lots of obstacles, but small distance.It's and expensive doorbell, but offers some nice features, such as various ring tones, volume adjustment and best of all completely simple operation... Just one button to call and clear afterwards. Definitely worth considering if you need this kind of versatility for a doorbell or intercom.
