Works well on red pimples: 2% Salicylic acid (SA) is basically Aspirin
Best value for 2% Salicylic acid (SA). Murad used to sell a 2% SA gel solution for much more $$, but they discontinued it. This is the only thing that works on my 3 teenager's acne. They get large red bumps that sometimes, but not always, turn into white heads. I use it myself for fading acne scars under my jawline. It encourages skin turn-over and combined with some exfoliation, works to fade the red circles left from acne.If you have loads of red bumps, this may cause you to get *more* bumps at first, before they all finally clear up and your skin is 100% clear. Stick with it, applying once in AM and once at night on a washed face. If you start to dry out, use it only once a day. USE SUNSCREEN if you have fair skin, since this caused my daughter to get a bad sunburn on a cloudy day! She was outside for a wedding (it even rained a bit) and the next day her skin was flushed red where she applies this. It really works, however, to make her skin really clear, as long as she applies it faithfully. If she skips 2 days in a row, she gets a couple pimples. You can also try this at night and this in the day time, which doesn't dry out the skin: [[ASIN:B009A291L8 Acne Treatment 3% Benzoyl Peroxide and Tea Tree Oil for Cystic Acne Vulgaris, Adult and Teen Acne. Blemish and Spot Treatment Medication by Create Cosmetics - BPT3.1 - 2.2. fl ozSalicylic acid is aspirin, so the redness of the pimples begins to fade overnight since aspirin is an anti-inflammatory.

Don’t see vast improvements and not a big enough bottle
I haven’t used clearisil since I was in my teens because I’ve never really struggled with acne until recently. I started getting some pretty bad acne on my back and have been using this for about 2 weeks now. It may have improved slightly, but not enough to spend what I’d have to in order to continuously buy this. The tube is fairly small and they recommend using it 3 times a day. This might be okay if you’re putting a small amount on your face, but when applying it to your back you’ll use a lot more.

GREAT FOR KERATOSIS PILARIS
Unfortunately, this item has become very hard to find. It is great for treating keratosis pilaris (which I have on my arms and legs) because you get a generous amount for the price. It's non-greasy and absorbs without any sticky after-feel. Highly recommend, as most lotions that are recommended for treatment of keratosis pilaris are the incorrect pH, and do not provide the necessary exfoliation.

Recommended for Normal-Oily Skin
I really love this product I bought like three of them bc they don't sell them in stores anymore but it has been a great help at keeping my skin moisturized. My skin type is oily and sensitive and I didn't have any bad reactions. It helps moisturize and keep pimples at bay. However I wouldn't recommend for naturally dry skin. I was using a benzoyl peroxide 10%(EXTREMELY drying my skin was like the Sahara desert no joke) and it didn't completely help. I applied some and 5 minutes later my skin was dry again. But if you have normal to oily skin, definitely think about getting this. It doesn't make your skin too oily unless you apply too much. Hope this helped

and am very happy with the results
I used this for probably around 6 months now, and am very happy with the results. I use it on the areas that I tend to break out the most, my chin, forehead and temple area. It does give a bit of an oily look, so if I'm going out without makeup I skip lotion on my forehead to prevent the shininess. I was purchasing it through my local Walmart, but it appears they don't sell it anymore.

Salicylic acid does work for acne
Does help with acne and is not as drying like benzoyl peroxide. I hate the fragrance though and I do not understand the use of perfumes in skin care products. Fragrance is loaded with hundreds of chemicals. It is totally unnecessary. We don't need it on our skin and it causes more irritation. I am searching for a reasonably priced fragrance free alternative to Clearasil

Great value for spot treatment
This tube is huge. It’s not like the tiny spot treatment bottles. It’s huge. This is great for folks with chest, neck, and back acne because you get a lot of product. It’s easy to use and you can easily tell if you’ve covered all your blemishes. I do think it works. It does have a chemical skincare scent but that’s pretty normal for this kind of product. The price for this is surprisingly good given how much tiny tubes of spot treatment go for. I absolutely recommend this for folks with bacne.

Impressed
It has been a while since I’be used any topical creams for acne, but there has been a point where I just needed something instead of “waiting it out”. My mom recommended this to me since it would work on her back when she was younger, and I don’t regret trying it.
