Dangerous!
Cool idea, but even set at 3V carefully beforehand, this device has blown out two unique, expensive 3V lighting systems. So either it's defective, or it's putting out way more power than the display indicates. Returning...

Came with a defective part... Found out after return window closed.
I would have rated this product five stars for the price, but unfortunately the alligator clips do not work. This was one of the main reasons I chose this particular power supply—so I could easily connect clips to power various hobby devices. No power was coming through the clips, which I confirmed with a multimeter. Testing continuity, I found that the black clip and its wire to the connector were fine, but the red wire showed no conduction. Tracing along the wire, everything checked out until I reached the connector, where I found the failure point. Because the connector is injection-molded, it cannot be repaired. That makes the unit defective. Sadly, I’m past the return period, so I’m out of luck.
