These are the first of this sort of thing that I've tried but they've worked very well. The xxl size is big enough for a couple of duvets and they really do reduce down to a very flat. They boast a blue gizmo that helps seal them before you suck the air out - I found this of limited use as it kept falling off, but it's very easy to seal the bags without it. It's worth doing this in a quiet room so you can listen for air escaping after you've suctioned the bag and quickly press the seal down to seal it again. As long as you have sealed it properly it stays sealed for ages.

NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE - DO NOT BUYSadly this is the second vacuum bag product I have bought from Amazon, and although it had mixed reviews, it seemed ideal for packing away my winter duvets, clothes etc. What an irritating mistake!!! It simply doesn't work! Although the picture on the front of the product clearly shows a vacuum hose sucking out air via a valve, the instructions on the back tell you to insert the vacuum hose into the bag, and suck out the air, then quickly remove and seal. Well, you need to be an octopus to do this. Not only does the vacuum hose suck at the contents (e.g. duvet) and the side of the plastic bag, it simply does not work this way. So I tried to suck out the excess air, after rolling the bag and compressing, then sealing the bag. IF I COULD GIVE IT ZERO STARS I WOULD! Now I need to ring Amazon and ask for a refund!!

After reading some reviews i started to worry about this product however when they arrived the quality was very good.I think the problem people have been having leading to leaks must either be due to over stuffing (you must leave atleast 15cm clear from the closure so there is no pull) or not fully closing the bag, though i found the clip attachement very helpful for this.So far i have used two of the bags, each taking a duvet and a number of pillows/cushions and after vacuum sealing last night they are both still as compact now as they were then.Im very happy with this purchase and would both recommend them to a friend and buy them again myself.

I have these vacuum storage bags ideal for long term storage. The bags are substantial but one must make sure there are no sharp objects on any items of clothing - for example zipper tags - which may pierce the bag when sucking out the air.

I actually bought these not to use as vacuum bags but as storage for my v large suitcase which I like to keep in the loft. Unfortunately my loft is smelling a bit and I had to throw a suitcase out because I couldn't get rid of the smell that had seeped into it. These are a great size. It not only holds my suitcase but there is space for other holiday stuff too. Not tried taking the air out of it but I'm sure I will find things that need vacuum storage and I'll try them out then and review that side of it. For now, they are just what I wanted.

Reading all the other reviews, what struck me is that i reckon most folk are using bag too small for the purpose - these fit a standard pillow just - and anything bigger, will burst the seal - so buy bags bigger than you need and the leakage problem could well be cured- also as a way of a tip , its best to pack your item in then take out some air - then readjust the contents to ensure the item is not stuck in the opening (Thus the bag will take air in) - all in all 100% Happy with mine

Hold my king sized duvet etc. really well. They do need to have the air sucked out every couple of months, but initially it enables me to fit everything into a top storage cupboard, I would never have got them in without these bags. Just have to check on them regularly.

We wanted to use these bags to store duvets. We input the duvets but the nags were hard to seal as though they were cheaply made! When we eventually closed the bags and sealed them shit we were feeling proud however after a few hours the bags expanded! I would not recommend this product for long term storage! The product in the bag does also not remain in shake and the bag turns a funny shape! Definitely not as good as they look on TV
