Great product
I really like my charbroil rotsserie kit. Build with stainless steel. Nice size. Great value for the price. Easy to install. I like the design it sits on top of the grill. It is easy to clean the parts. Soak immediately!

Great tool; poor fit
Accentuating the positive first: rotisserie chickens have been a favorite at our local grocery store. But thanks to Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act, they are now $10…$4 higher than about a year ago. But with this rotisserie, I can do my own chickens, twice the size and much cheaper. And pork is still cheap, so I do thick-cut chops on rotisserie, too. And Cornish Game hens. All ridiculously easy to do. I put some water-soaked applewood chips in the grill, too, and suddenly I’m good at bbq-ing! I hope this tool lasts, because I really enjoy grilling now.The negative: I bought this Char-Broil rotisserie for two reasons: it is the same brand as the Char-Broil 4-burner grill that I bought two months ago, and; because the rotisserie description said it was “universal”. Well, there’s no way this fits the grill. Even if I take the burner grates off, the rod sits too high to allow the cover to close properly. It sits open about 1.5 inches. I don’t think it affects the cooking too much, but it just looks “amateurish”.Positives outweigh the negatives, though. Buy it and have fun!

Yes!Get one!
I am hooked! This device turned my cooking world upside down! (Those were both rotisserie puns) .. truly a game changer. I have used this no less than ten times and I have a whole chicken spinning on the grill as I type. I know the premise is very simple, grill spinning meat. But what I didn’t realize was how fast it works and how delicious the flowers would be.A few pro tips from a new rotisserie-er: 1) buy some baking string (twine?) and use it however makes sense to keep your meat as aerodynamic as possible; 2) try brining or marinating even if you only have an hour or so.. it will still make a difference (even the most basic salt and whole peppercorns mixture will give you some extra flavor); 3) don’t burn your meat. This seems simple but I was lulled into thinking this slow and steady mechanism was fool proof, I was ever the fool. I burned my first beef loin and it was a sad evening. There is a tipping point after your meat is browned that things will move quickly so really keep an eye past that point. Keeping the lid open after you get a nice brown going will solve for that. All in all this has been a family favorite. My next move is to just throw a chicken on there without doing anything to it just to see how it goes. I am Convinced that it will make anything taste good.Updated photo 10/10:Decided to try a tomahawk steak on the rotisserie - brined it for a bit with a salt and peppercorn mixture, added a rub after the brine and put it on the grill. Delicious.

ONE MISSING PART . . .
. . . which was the 26" spit rod. Very important item. Entire thing is USELESS without it. Returned? You can bank on it!UPDATE (8/2/22)I've been watching this item since last years debacle. Price was dropped dramatically so, (ONE MORE TIME!) I ordered it.This time ALL the pieces were there!Installation was on a 4 burner "Char Broil" grill I bought last year.NEW DEVELOPMENT: The spit is NOT long enough to traverse the entire grill surface; HOWEVER, a bracket was included to accommodate this problem (WHEW!).Installing the motor bracket was "interesting". The oblong holes were not wide enough to allow the heads of the bolts to go through. Thank God I used to be a "technician" (mechanic with a degree) prior to retirement. Got out my Dremel tool and widened out the holes to allow the bolts to be inserted into the proper mounting holes. After installing the unit and a "no load" test run, I discovered the hood would not close all the way and came to rest on the rotating spit. So after spending several hours rummaging through tons and tons of junk hardware (NEVER throw old used hardware away!) I was able to kluge 2 devices that are inserted into the left and right upper grill assembly support holes (it HAS to come out while using the rotisserie) allowing me to close the lid ~95% and keeping it from contacting the rotating spit. Now to get some meat (whole chickens, turkey, roast(s), ribs) and give it a "test by fire".
