No - if you can purchase 'on offer', then you may get a good buy - even purchase more than one. It's big problem is the 'wind on' mechanism, where it easily 'over runs' the next frame. When under water it is not so clear to see the 'number' used. I found that I often needed to wind on quickly for the next interesting fish or invertebrate, which made slowly moving the camera accurately difficult. As a 1 off you pays your money & takes your pick. If there is any chance you may need an underwater camera more than once, then I would purchase a digital example. These are available from £40.00, with some good reviews. They will video and take snaps quickly. When you may have paid a lot of money for a 'Trip of a lifetime', another £40.00 seems a lot. I wish I had got one as there is some chance I may need one again, if not I could also lend/hire it to a friend. Hope this helps !!

Q: I want to use this camera for scuba diving. Will it still work 20m under water?

No chance, only would work to about 3m, we bought about six for a geography trip when we went scuba diving. Two cases cracked, probably went too deep at about 5m. Others ok. Also had a canon underwater camera, it was superb.

Q: is this suitable for a shark cage dive?

Yes, it would be find. I use them when i go snorkelling, photos come out really good. They are quite buoyant so keep hold of it, it has a rubber wrist strap but the camera might float through the cage bars if not careful, you don't want the sharks to eat it! Good luck!
