Mexican Train game - a real family game and great fun!
Brought this game as recommended by my sister and it's big everywhere, it seems everyone is playing it! This is a real family game, we bought the game with the musical train station hub, which plays a steam train every time you press it. The little trains are cute and good quality and the dominoes really strong, hard plastic and colourful, almost like bakelite. We play one game after another, and love it, but have to say it's much more fun with 4 or more playing - this particular game is for up to 8 players. We all love this game and highly recommend it to anyone, the dominoes are colourful and really good quality, the hub is great, as is the tin. Worth paying a bit extra for the tin, good quality dominoes and train station hub (which plays train noises).

Compulsive
Buy this tin as there are various cheaper copies on the market - even the price of this can vary tremendously. The train sound on the turntable is what keeps the younger children occupied when it isn't their go! Be prepared to play into the night - it's compulsive! Allows for tactical play for those competitive dads yet is easy for youngsters (4+) to join in. Dominoes are colourful, extremely well made and tactile, but one or two of the colours are easy to mix up, so it teaches the younger children to count as well. The rules are straightforward - enjoy!

Either the batteries are flat or the train noise mechanism is faulty, which is sad as that is the fun bit of the game.

Not very clear instructions and game takes a while to get started. Too many tiles that have too many dots. The more traditional dominoes is better

Mexican train fever
It seems to be all the rage to play Mexican Dominoes at the moment, hence the difficulty in getting some versions. This one is good, though the tin is bulky, but then it does contain the extra, noisy, train station! Our only criticism is that the dots, or pips, on the tiles are somewhat smaller than on some other versions, and the colours could have been coordinated less confusingly. Be careful with the rules too as there are subtle differences between versions, which can trip up people who might own a different set.

The Fundex Mexican Train Dominoes
After having bought this game on Amazon a short while ago I was then asked by one of the people playing along with me if I could get her this game for herself to play with other friends. As she hasn't got a computer I agreed and lo and behold I think she is 'hooked'. A very happy lady. Oh, by the way, I am also hooked!! It is made to a very high quality and looks as though it might last for ever; the dominoes are very sturdy and easy to handle. I think the Mexican train game is a 'runaway' success.

Mexican Train
This game is a great twist on the old dominoes format. Easily understood by all from about 8 years, it's good family entertainment, and everybody has a chance of winning. Each game lasts long enough for keen competition to take place, but not too long so that boredom and frustration set in.The dominoes are colourful and the centre console and playing pieces add an extra fun element.Highly recommended, excellent value.

Hours of fun
Great game - all our friends enjoy it and many have purchased it after sharing a game with us. Just make sure you know whose rules you are playing by! Ok, it's not too intellectual, but there are tactics you can get to understand, although chance does play a big part. There are also several ways of playing the game (within your chosen set of rules). As I said already - great game and one that we will keep for a long time to come.
