As you would expect form Collins, this maths workbook is top quality and aligns well to the UK curriculum taught in primary schools. The layout is clear and my son was able to follow this with minimal guidance, and enjoyed completing a few pages each week to help cement what he had been learning in class. Highly recommended.

My 5yo daughter has shown a real aptitude and love of maths recently and this book has been perfect for complimenting her learning. Whilst she is in year 1, and this book is aimed at year 2 children, she is still able to understand the concepts and it has given her an opportunity to prepare for next year. Whilst she still needs help reading the exercises to understand the material, she is able to follow the exercises easily. The exercises are well laid out with good use of colour. The exercises are bite sized, allowing her to finish a section at a time. And as parent you can be reassured it follows the KS1 curriculum. There are also audio exercises linked via QR codes in the book which help reinforce the material. At £4.99 (at time of review), this is excellent value.

Year 2 Mental Maths Targeted Practice Workbook - price when reviewed £ 4.99 These books offer parents the opportunity to help their children with their maths. They are well designed and easy to understand, and will help children and parents to engage with each other while improving their mathematical understanding and number skills. In a way, they help parents bring maths into the home in the same way as reading is practised at home. I am looking forward to working through these books with my grandsons. The material is based upon the national curriculum, and seems progressive and logical in its approach. The audio tests (you scan a QR code with your phone) help children get used to what to expect in the SATS tests at school, and are illuminating for parents too. I include a picture of the preamble and a sample page from the book. Overall, I think these books are excellent, and are just what is needed to improve mathematical skills in children (and perhaps parents too).

Realizing this might be good for the end of grade 2 , not during (certainly not the beginning of grade 2)
