Brief History Of Time, A (L) : Hawking, Stephen: desertcart.in: Books Review: Wonderful book. Kindle - A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking is a classic work of science writing that has captured the imagination of readers around the world. The book is a tour de force of popular science, deftly explaining complex concepts in a way that is both accessible and engaging. Hawking begins by tracing the development of our understanding of the universe from the ancient Greeks to the present day. He then goes on to discuss the Big Bang, black holes, and other cosmological phenomena. Along the way, he provides insights into the nature of space and time, the laws of physics, and the ultimate fate of the universe. A Brief History of Time is not an easy book to read. The concepts it discusses are complex and require a certain level of mathematical knowledge. However, Hawking does an excellent job of explaining these concepts in a way that is both clear and concise. He also uses analogies and metaphors to help readers understand the more difficult concepts. One of the things that makes A Brief History of Time so special is Hawking's own sense of wonder. He is clearly fascinated by the universe and its mysteries, and he is able to convey this excitement to his readers. The book is full of insights and observations that will make you think about the universe in a new way. If you are interested in learning more about the universe, A Brief History of Time is an essential read. It is a book that will challenge you, but it is also a book that will reward you with a deeper understanding of the cosmos. Here are some of the things that I liked about the book: Hawking's clear and concise writing style. The use of analogies and metaphors to explain complex concepts. Hawking's own sense of wonder and excitement about the universe. The insights and observations that the book provides. If you are looking for a book that will challenge you intellectually and make you think about the universe in a new way, then I highly recommend A Brief History of Time. Review: Fascinating Book! - I’m currently halfway through A Brief History of Time and absolutely loving it! The way Stephen Hawking explains everything—from the origins of science to protons, neutrons, and the universe’s mysteries—is fascinating. Whenever I come across a concept I don’t fully grasp, I look it up on ChatGPT and it makes the experience even richer. I bought this book to understand how the universe works and to explore some deep philosophical questions—and it’s doing exactly that. The print quality is great too. Highly recommended for anyone curious about the universe and life’s biggest questions!

A fascinating book on our universe. But not an easy read.
What do we know about the universe? How do we know what we know? Where did the universe come from and where is it going? What is the nature of time? Did time have a beginning? Will it ever come to an end? If time had a beginning what was there ‘before’ it began? The Brief History of Time is Professor Hawking’s attempt to explain answers to these fundamental questions to the common people. Of course, we do not have the exact answers to all these questions but we have quite some understanding of the universe based on various scientific theories. Professor Hawking has tried to explain such concepts in a simple language without using any formula. Some theories and facts blew my mind. And some were too difficult for my understanding. But Professor Hawking surely tested my capacity to imagine and fascinated me by providing a glimpse of the vastness and mystery of our universe. If you have some interest in understanding the universe and various basic concepts of science (knowledge is not required; that will be provided by Professor Hawking) you will find the book fascinating. I have read reviews saying that this is a very simple and effortless read because of author's lucid writing style. That is not true. Although the book is written in a simple language, it is a book on science and some of the concepts are difficult to understand. So, do not expect this to be an easy and effortless read. If you are not inclined think or imagine on a little bit complex scientific topics, you may avoid reading it.

A Brief History of Time: From the Big Bang to Black Holes, Stephen Hawking
Isn't it amazing that a person can read a book like A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking and come away feeling both smarter and dumber than before he started? What a universe we live in! It's quite short and generally a quick read. Not every page is filled with mind-blowing/numbing theories and brain-busting equations. Some of it is just history, say on Newton and such. However, there were a few pages worth of passages where my wee brain felt like it was getting sucked into a black hole...mainly during the black hole segment. I've forgotten so much since I left school, and since school was such a long time ago, some of what was taught back then is now outdated, it was nice to read this refresher/cleanser. I came away with a better understanding of the Big Bang theory and why it's plausible (Not the tv show. Its existence is not plausible). I'm trying to sort out the time/space quantifiability thing. That's going to require a reread...and probably further study elsewhere. Surprisingly, I also came away with the idea that God and science can coexist. I didn't expect that. I figured someone like Hawking would be like, "God? Pssh, whatever." But that's not his take at all, or at least that not the impression this book left me with. A Brief History of Time was written with accessibility in mind, knowing full well idiots like me wouldn't buy it, read it or recommend it if it were impossibly dense. Hawking's sense of humor even comes through on occasion, which is always appreciated in these sciencey texty thingies. So, I'll probably move on to his Briefer History... next and I'd be quite willing to read others as well!

Stephen Hawking, one of the greatest contemporary physicists explores in a very interesting and informative way the unresolved riddles about the universe and the structure of particles, energy, time, gravity, various forces in the universe, god and their relationship with one another. His approach is both scientific and philosophical raising questions about the meaning of human existence in the universe. Although quite detailed the questions raised and alternative explanations offered are appealing both to the amateur and the professional. Stephen Hawking approaches the fundamental issues from many aspects including Newtonian physics, Special and General Relativity of Einstein, Quantum physics, string theory etc. He compares the different approaches, explains how they arose historically and the quest for a unified theory of the universe. Of course he devotes a lot of time to the primary issue of the creation and possible end of the universe. His treatment of matter and antimatter are especially interesting. I had read the book many years ago, recently I listened to the audio CD. I recommend both as a rich source of knowledge about these topics from a leading scientist on these issues. I also recommend The Fabric of the Cosmos by Brian Green which is also a very interesting exploration of the same issues.
