The hatch rates are amazing and quicker than some other eggs that I've tried. I put myself in a bind by trying out three different brands in a row. Two of them averaged 24-hour hatch rates. The third is where I ran into an issue. 24-hour, 2 hatcheries, 2 teaspoons of eggs, 76-77 deg, perfect salt, bubbler, and no hatches. Started panicking and waited to see if they needed more time. by 36 hrs, maybe 3% hatched. I hopped on Amazon and ordered some of these and a few others in hopes of one arriving early. They won't eat first bites, ground-up flakes, or egg yolk at this stage. My cultures weren't ready yet as the next set of babies were not due for 3 days. These not only arrived earlier than expected, but I also had about 50% hatch in 12 hours, which saved my fish babies' lives. We waited for the next hatchery to be tested at 18 hours and the third at 24 hrs. 18 hours with my configuration seems to be the sweet spot with these eggs, which is awesome. The 90% haterate they are listed as is no joke. I swear I'm getting closer to 93-94%. May have just got an awesome batch. But I'll tell you one thing. I will be buying these again. Liquid Gold

Really love it and wish to give it 5 stars but small things can be done to get full mark. First the can it self it is too old to make a steel can without easy open cap. Second why you don't put it in plastic jar like the 8 oz size it will be better than the metal. Third shipping cost I bought 3 jars different grades for more than 120$ and you add shipping cost I think you should make free shipping 🙂🙂

Separation of hatched baby brine shrimp is outstanding! Love it

The price for this ammount of brine shrimp is a great price and hatch rates are very high from my picture that was just 2 scoops.

Photos are from several different batches. I've been hatching Aquarium Co-op brand BBS with the Ziss hatchery for over a year, and had been extremely happy with the whole process and outcome (essentially had a 100% hatch rate and the egg separation is amazing, I've never had to strain out the egg shells even once) until their egg prices doubled this year. This prompted me to want to switch to a more cost effective brand, but after using Brine Shrimp Direct eggs for ~ a month I've decided to make the switch back. To try to sum up the key notes of what I experienced with Brine Shrimp Direct eggs: low hatch rate (sometimes less than 50%), unhatched eggs/shells do not separate at all even with various strainers (I use the black strainers that come in a 4 pack on Brine Shrimp Direct's website), spent too much time trying to separate shells and eggs from live BBS (sometimes over half an hour at a time), hatched BBS are significantly smaller than Aquarium Co-op brand BBS (could be a good thing if you need smaller BBS for nano fry like tetras but I prefer BBS on the larger side for my goodeids). BSD customer support says do not use Ziss hatcheries but it does not mention that in their written instructions. Instructions that came with product could be better - it doesn't say "x amount of teaspoons of salt per x amount of water", it says "x percentage of salinity" which means you need to have a salinity barometer to know if your salinity is correct for hatching, and I wasn't expecting to have to shell out an extra $15 just to check the salinity level. I reached out to BSD customer support after the first few batches in my Ziss hatchery had a large amount of eggs at the bottom that I couldn't separate from the live BBS with my 4 tier strainer set. I was told eggs at the bottom are unhatched eggs and eggs at the top are shells, and to check the salinity (which I ended up having to order the barometer in order to do so, because they couldn't tell me how many teaspoons of brine shrimp salt to use), to use a 2 liter soda bottle to hatch them instead of the Ziss hatchery - I asked why and was told the "Ziss hatcheries do not circulate the eggs well enough and they do not hatch", which I don't really think is true because I've never had that issue even once with the Co-op eggs and had nearly a 100% hatch rate every time with the Ziss hatchery and that brand, but I took their advice anyways and tried the DIY soda bottle hatchery which *did not make any difference in hatching what so ever*. All it did was make extra work on my end, again. I confirmed with CS I was keeping them at the correct temperarure (82* F), and kept a light on the container constantly. Then I was told to use less eggs than I normally would to see of that made a difference, I used half the amount of eggs and saw no change. When I asked about having issues separating the live BBS from the shells/unhatched eggs with the strainers and what I could do, CS said the eggs and the live BBS are almost the same size and the strainers probable would not separate them. So... That was a problem that could not be avoided. I had some concerns about if the eggs were not any good because they needed to be kept cool/refrigerated and they were not shipped with any cold packs or insulation, and were sent to me cross country during a heat wave. When I asked I was told they should be fine but I still think being sent in a 90+ degree heat with no protection may have effected them. I would also like to point out when you open the container, don't expect it to be full to the brim; the container is only 3/4 full. Still a very good amount of eggs for the money, but if only half of them hatch and you can't really separate the unhatched eggs from the live BBS... Well... I guess you can determine if it's worth the price yourself. I'm going to just suck it up and go back to the brand I know is no-nonsense and easier to work with, despite their price increase.
