Last fall, I re-pierced my left lobe piercing, which had closed in the back from years of not wearing earrings. After keeping in the starter earrings, I switched to flat back, screw on earrings, so that they would be comfortable to sleep on (side sleeper). I was wearing some surgical steel earrings and found that my piercing wasn't really healing. Even cleaning it consistently, the backing would get crusty with blood, even after months. I believe I was having a reaction to the surgical steel. I've always had bad reactions to jewelry metals, which has gotten worse over the years, even a couple hours with sterling silver will turn me green. Since it seems like the surgical steel is preventing my piercing from healing, I researched and found that surgical grade titanium is the safest option.Like with all screw-back earrings, they are pretty small and it can be difficult to screw on, especially if you have longer nails. These backings are even smaller than others I have, though the gems are a bit bigger than my others. There are two sets of extra large backings (with small gem) in a little bag.In the picture of the ball earring (my old earring) and the gem earring (from this pack) in my hand, you can see the size difference of the backings. Surprisingly, even though the backing is smaller, I've found it easier to thread than my other earrings. Because the gem tapers in the back, it is not flush to the front of your earlobe. I've had my hair loop through it a couple of times.So far I've had less pain, and less blood when cleaning my piercing.I'll update the review in a few months if there are any changes (negative or positive).Overall, I recommend them! The set is a cute basics set and easy to put on and take off.

I’m highly allergic to most metals, but had no reaction whatsoever to these at all. Worn for a prolonged period two different times without any irritation or discoloration of skin. Zero irritation. Royal blue color matches with my blue eyes perfectly. The flat back design is very comfortable, unlike traditional backs, even when laying on my side. The screw-on backs stay put, perfect to prevent loss so often seen with traditional backs. The perfect starter set for all ages. My daughters loved these gemstone earrings. They did not irritate their ears and they look high quality. The backs are flat so they can sleep in them with out it hurting. The variety of colors are why I purchased these and they look just like the photo.

This is a versatile set of graduated size flat back studs. The titanium setting makes them lightweight and the gold plating is attractive. The red stones are deep in color, but not sparkly the way a lot of colored CZs are, maybe because the red is so deep. The stone settings seem secure, and the screw on backs keep them securely in your ear piercings through work, play and sleep. Much appreciated are the 4 extra screw on backs that have tiny red gems at the end, giving you the option of a bit more bling.

I really wanted to like these, but was a little disappointed that the blue earrings look nothing like the picture. They are DARK blue, not the light blue as shown. They are easy to put on and makes it easy to sleep in when I have them in my cartilage. Just disappointed in the color.

I have multiple piercings that I like to pare down in size. These look great and size down well. The largest one is a little too big for my taste, but the others I can easily wear. I like the their screw back, which makes them extra secure. In addition, the backing dies not poke into my neck when sleeping, so I can leave them in all night. I've worn them for 4 days with out removing and my ears are not itching. They are truly hypoallergenic.

This is a really nice gift set for anyone who has their ears pierced. They are simple and beautiful. The fact that the backs screw on is super helpful in keeping them from coming off and it makes them comfortable to sleep with.

I love these earrings. The screw in backs are the best. No more falling off backs for me. The flat backs are so comfy. The post don't like me anymore when I nap or sleep. Nice and lightweight.
