Since my husband and I are getting to "that age", we have a couple of BP monitors around the house so that if we're feeling symptomatic we can take a quick check on our blood pressure. We have one of the wrist units which is easy to use but gives erratic readings. We have an arm cuff that is similar to the wrist one and it links to my smartphone to track my readings, so I use that when I need to send reading to the doc, but I feel as if this type of old-fashioned monitor gives the best and most accurate readings. I use this to see how accurate our other ones are and this one is always consistent and matches what the readings in the doctor's office show.

This manual blood pressure cuff seems to be reliable and is easy to use. It is made of nylon material with a velcro strap and comes with the standard D-ring, allowing for you to measure your own blood pressure on your own without the help of someone else. The cuff fits both me and my husband, and well as my two teenaged kids; the four of us are a variety of sizes. The guage has a large reading dial with the area of 80 - 130 in red indicating a normal pressure range. Oh, and there is a clip for the dial to clip to! A nylon bag is included for easy storage. This system is easy enough to use or travel with if necessary.

PNow, keep in mind that you need to be able to take a blood pressure by auscultation - this is a very manual process where you need to listen to the heartbeats.Having said that, if you are able to od this, this is a great kit. It's also great for EMT students, healthcare offices, etc - who are familiar with using this process.I do indeed recommend this as a cost-effective, accurate option for at-home blood pressure measurement.
