Be careful opening your canvas because the needles are tucked into it, near the upper corner. This kit has 28 colors, which is fine for the size. Because there is no backstitch, there aren't going to be any sharply defined edges and it's going to look best from a few feet away. There isn't a ton of black (color 939) which I love. I feel like a lot of the more budget friendly kits dial down the contrast so the majority of the picture is black with just the highlights in colors. There is not a lot of color blocking and a ton of confetti but that's going to give you a nice blend in the fur. The canvas is printed very nicely and it is lined up with the squares.
