For the money this can’t be beaten. Had another version in my wishlist but supplies didn’t last. So after a bit of searching I came across this one which was nearly identical except it had an assortment of sutures included which is a brilliant idea for a starter kit. About the instruments: B+ overall. They won’t bend unless you use two hands and full strength, even then they wouldn’t bend much. So if you need to modify them for anything particular expect it to be difficult. Their locking teeth are clean cut, sharp and solid. No slippage or gaps. I haven’t opened the scapel blades yet but if they were dull I have plenty of very sharp knives that can do the job until replacement blades come. About the case: A- for the money. Seems to have a synthetic velvet like liner which is nice and should let the tools slip into their elastic holder without scarring the liner. The exterior is what you’d expect except it does have an internal plastic casing so to protect the instruments from abuse. Probably could sit on it and not harm them. The only thing I can criticize is the zipper as most standard plastic zippers can’t hold under much load. So don’t pack the case with loads of supplies straining the zipper and it won’t fail you.

I bought this set to surgically open our chicken's crop. My friend, who did the surgery and is also a medical doctor, said that he was very impressed with this set. I ordered it Tuesday night before Thanksgiving and it arrived at my post office on Thursday morning. Thank you as we needed to operate on Friday and I would not have been able to find this anywhere near me.

I could say it was more than I expected. I'm a nurse and it comes in handy in an emergency.

Super compact, has everything you need for wound care. I have this in my go bag for if there is a fire/earthquake/etc. and they bring me a lot of comfort knowing I could help myself or others.
