This is far better than what you'll typically find at the hardware store.
I was using a brand of glaze from a hardware store and it was very hard to work with (too stiff). When I read The Window Sash Bible, author Steve Jordan recommended this brand and I'm happy I took his advice. The difference is like night and day. This is easier to work and allows me to get a professional result with less effort and time.

Easy to use, works much better than dap
I've always hated trying to glaze, never could quite do a decent job. The dap product is hard to work with. The sarco glazing compounds are much thinner and easier to work with. So happy I found this because I've had to glaze dozens of windows!!

The Best Glazing Compound on the Market
This is absolutely the best glazing product on the market. I had a rather big glazing job - 160ea 8in x 11in windows that needed re-glazing. I used an electric heat gun to remove all the old glazing, then using a good primer - Zxxx123 to prime the window moultons (i.e. crosses), I used Dual Glaze to glaze each window. It works great and very workable. After about 10 days, a "skin" formed. I then used a rag dipped in paint thinner to remove the haze near the glazing strip on each window. I then applied a coat of primer and two coats of exterior paint. Glazing is a "labor of love" and requires patience! However, I am quite pleased with the results of my extensive labor. Unfortunately even though I purchase a gallon, I ran short of two windows. I went to the local hardware store to purchase a small jar of the competitors glazing compound - DAxx33. The big box store brand does not even hold a candle to Sarco. Buy the best, sweat the lease.

Works great above 60-degrees
Re-glazing the aluminum windows of an old (built in 1951) rental house to sell, this was the glazing everyone seemed to recommend, and it worked great as long as it's applied in warmer temperatures- a HUGE improvement over the baked, cracked glaze we had before. When it's below about 62 you have to "warm it up" by kneading, and it makes a huge mess on your hands. If you don't, smoothing out the job with a stiff metal putty knife results in a very rough finish, and the glazing sometimes drags right off the window.

Save those old windows
The glazing compound was highly recommended by historic restoration consultants. I used it on all my window panes when I had my house repainted.Contractor loved it!Now restoring another house and using it on those window panes. Great stuff!

Night and day....
I have been doing spot repairs on my windows with Dow 33 for a few years now, but decided to begin systematically restoring the 36 windows in my home. They are all 6 over 6 or 9 over 9 and several have transoms. To even think to take on such a project I knew I was going to need a better putty product. I started researching and all roads led back to the Sarco products. Since I am not planning on removing the windows, the Dual Glaze product is recommended for this application. I am only halfway through window #1, a 6 over 6 on the ground level and the difference in working with this product is immediately noticeable. It tools so much easier without dragging and and pulling. Very smooth. It is softer, so I noticed I have to be more careful not to inadvertently touch my completely work while working on other areas of the window. The ease of application will certainly be apprecaited when I am doing 9 over 9s on a ladder 3 stories off the ground. I am just begining this journey, but I believe it is now doable, where with Dow 33, I was not going to even attempt it. Should only get easier as I chip away (pun intended) on all these windows and improve my technic.

Putty is great -- packaging not so much
After reading tons of reviews taking about nightmares using the Big Box putty, I watched several youtube videos that recommended this putty. As a first-time window glazer, I found this stuff to be excellent. My lines are better than the ones that the professional window guys made when they replaced some broken panes on my house a month ago. The putty is very workable, and looks great. One big negative -- I badly re-sprained my elbow trying to pry open the gallon container. Geeze -- the thing is sealed so tightly it takes a nuclear bomb to open it. Be really careful not to hurt yourself trying to get it open. I'm genuinely injured.

Great Putty! Makes an Amateur feel like a Pro.
I tried all sorts of putty, restoring my 1939 windows. Sarco Dual Glaze Putty is the best! You will probably need to wait a bit longer for the putty to glaze over for painting, but it’s worth it. I felt like a pro with my putty knife.
