Fabulous
I bought the vinyl version of this in 1987 on the Champs Elysees in Paris and always loved it. Wanted a CD version to save having to set up my turntable. The bonus is that it came with words (magnifying glass needed though) so can finally properly sing along.

Just Beautiful!
I agree with others who have said you need to know this fabulous show to appreciate the French Concept Album - the songs are not in the same order and there are slight differences with the tunes at times (which makes it interesting) - what pure joy! This is where the fantastic show began all those years ago and it brings me goose bumps every time I listen to it. (The booklet is also great to have - just a pity that anyone with less than perfect eye-sight needs a magnifying glass to read the lyrics!) - I highly recommend this album for all fans of Les Miserables - and long, long may the beloved show continue to run!

Les Miserables in French
Great as it gives the words too A different set to the English production and quite good to listen to if you are learning French conversation Only problem is as there are many verses to several songs the print is minuscule so people of a certain age will need glasses

Wonderful CD!
I am really delighted with this CD. I have several versions of the songs, and this by far is my favourite. The songs are more dramatic and the music orchestration is much more interesting than the English versions, especially when heard in stereo. I have downloaded and translated the lyrics from the internet so I am able to follow the story. The lyrics are included with the CD, but in a very small font, together with a plot summary. I would strongly recommend this CD to all Les mis fans, even if the French is not understood. Really good!

I prefer the French version
Having studied french for the past4 years and have had to stop going to classes due to health problems, I needed an input of French to cheer me up. I love the French version, there seems to be more passion in how the songs are sung. But since going to see the film version, I have since purchased the anniversary DVD and the english cd version. Cant get enough of LES MIS.

Excellent
The CD comes with the words. It makes a useful additional resourse for those studing French. It is taken from a story written by one of Frances most talented writers, set at a most pivotal point in French history. I do not usually like musicals but this Original French version is magic.

Excellent purchase
The 2013 film version of Les Misérables was my first experience with this musical phenomenon. I got curious and ordered the original french musical. This is superb! Definitely well worth the money. The words are not that hard to understand. Can't wait until the french version of the movie will be released in June 2013.

Drama queen
Bought for my daughter, hence the title. However it seems to have gone down quite well and compares well to the later productions.
