Pretty slick handmade product, It definitely needs some oil put on it upon arrival. Once oiled and cleaned up, this thing looks very nice. Mine is purple in the gaps of the olive wood. There are tons of olives grown around where I live so I though this would be pretty neat, not local olive wood but still. Very nice for entertaining and serving snacks on, also a conversation piece. Love it.

Olivarte has described the use of this board to be for for cutting and displaying foods to serve, as a charcuterie (a cold meat display). But, honestly, I cannot bring myself to use sharp knives or other cutlery on this beautiful board. I intend to use it as a counter display and a serving board graced with appetizers!The "DONT's" are important in using this gorgeous board: do not place this board in the dishwasher, do not use detergent on this board, and do not use this board as a hot plate for pans or other hot items. Be sure and hand wash this board without strong cleaning solutions or detergents, and oil it once in a while with olive oil or mineral oil after you clean it. Seriously, after you actually get to see this board, you'll WANT to keep it looking great.Because this board has been handcrafted from a 500 year old olive tree which was at the end of its lifespan, it deserves a prominent display in my kitchen where all can marvel at its beauty and artistry. I have seen olive trees in person, so I have a great appreciation for the craftsmanship of Olivarte's board, and the unique wood from these trees. There are 5 other options to choose from that have other colors of epoxy entwined through the unique patterns found in the wood of the olive trees. No two boards will look alike, and even the opposite side of the board you receive will have its own distinctive pattern.The measurement of this board is consistent with the details in the Amazon listing. The rounded corners were handcrafted to perfection and are very smooth. Since charcuterie boards have become popular for serving appetizers, this board would make a spectacular gift.

I was hoping to give this as a gift, but unfortunately, the quality was not what I expected for the price. The finish wasn’t smooth, the color of the resin part was mat and not shiny. There were imperfections throughout. I will be returning.

I love this wood and resin look, so much visual interest and detail. I thought, why cover it with a bunch a food where you can't se e how nice it is! So it's working extremely well as a cocktail presentation platform at my rather extensive home bar. It frames a finished cocktail well and guests remark that it heightens anticipation as the cocktail is being prepared. It even works well in tandem with other coasters or lace mats on top of it, if they happen to match a theme together. It is quite sturdy and thick, and rather easy to clean. I don't think I would ever use this really lovely piece as something to mess up with knives and scrapes, and smears of cheese, but that is me. It has a very classy and sort of scandinavian design look, although it appears to be Turkish. Overall, I'm very happy to pick this up and add it to my collection of trays, risers, trivets, and other framing placemats for use in cocktail photography. It's a 5 for me.

You can usually tell immediately if something is expertly crafted, and this is one of those things! This board is absolutely stunning and eye catching. I would no recommend this for everyday use as a cutting board, this is really meant to be a piece of art used for serving. There are a few things you should avoid with this board such as cleaning in the dishwasher, using harsh detergents, I personally like to avoid actually cutting on this and instead use it for serving charcuterie. It does require a little extra love and maintainence, but I think the exquisite craftmanship and beautiful visual that it offers is totally worth it. This would make a very special gift.

The board I recieved has a defect. On both sides is a black raised dot that drives me nuts. Had this annoying black raise spot not been there this would be a total 5 star item!
