Lovely chess set. Comes in a nice cloth sleeve. Pieces and board feel quality. Magnets are strong enough to prevent a disruption. I got this for my classroom, and it feels quality. Would make a great gift.

At less than $25 this chess set is a steal. My son has recently gotten into chess and while on vacation a while back we bought a cheap plastic travel chess set for like $20 or something. There is no comparison between this one and that other one for the tiny difference in price. While this set is a full size set when opened it is great for storage as when folded it takes up half the room. The chess and checkers pieces each have their own snug pocket to fit perfectly into inside the box and they stay in their place even when you open it and turn it over. The board/box itself appears to be hand made with little slight defects/accents, but to me that makes it better, not an issue. The chess and checkers are a nice size with good detail. There is an included extra queen for both light and dark which is a really nice addition. The magnets in the pieces are strong enough that you can turn the board upside down and they will remain in place. There is nothing I can say bad about this set!

I've been holding off getting a set because so many of them look really cheap and crappy. I decided I couldn't wait so I thought I'd try this one. This set exceeded my expectations. There are two small scratches, but they don't affect the play at all. I like that they're magnetic so if you bump the table the pieces will stay on. You could also bring it on a plane or train. I marked it off for the scratches, but otherwise it's a 5 star set. It's a beginners set, but that's exactly what I was looking for.The current price is $26.49.

I’m not really a chess or checker person. Got this set for my kids to play with. I’m very impressed with the craftsmanship of the set. Very detailed and well made. A magnet is hidden at the bottom of each chessman and concealed by a velvet like piece of paper. Each chessman is polished and looks shiny. Despite that they are made of wood, they are actually very light. The chessman are held by a sponge case when stored. The box locks securely and stored in the accompanied cotton canvas bag. It’s a pleasure to hold the pieces and play with them. If I have to complain, the box outline is not 100% straight. It bends slightly in the middle but is not a big deal.

We love this 2 in 1 wooden magnetic chess set and checkers board game. It’s beautiful and very rustic. We love playing checkers and my husband loves playing chess and he’s going to teach me how to play chess. I’ve watched others play chess and I’ve always wanted to learn. They’re both great fun games. What’s really cool is that it’s a duo game board. We go back and forth playing either game because they’re back to back and they’re connected attached with magnets. These are 2 games we enjoy playing, especially during off-grid power outages. We look forward to playing these games very soon.

This is a nice set and worthy of gifting. The three things I like most is the magnetic feature, the compact size, and the secure storage in cut foam inside.There is nothing I dislike about this set.
