The idea and design of these combs are pretty straightforward, and you would think that they would work well. However, in actual use, it is very hard to get the hair in between the teeth.Also, the thinnest part of the comb does not give you a short enough cut. So, if you prefer a skin fade or even a number one at the lowest you will have to do it manually. Otherwise, it's more suitable for those with longer hair who would like a tapered look.

Doesn't work for my hair. Maybe my hair is too soft, too clean, or too thick and heavy, but the teeth on the fade comb do not grab my hair at all. If I use the other comb to lift my hair and drop it in the fade comb, my hair just falls through the fade comb before I can get the clippers on it. The bundled standard comb works better to hold my hair and take the clippers to it, but that sort of defeats the purpose of the more foolproof fade comb.

Well, technically it can be used for a fade but only for the top bulk. Use your shaver, trimmer, clipper and guards, set guidelines and blend them together. Masterpiece!

I tried to use these but I couldn't get them close enough to the skin to get enough hair to come through for a fade. These seem a bit large and too thick. Especially compared to a traditional comb they are so much thicker .I found a different use for them instead.

I'm not having good luck getting hair to feed through these properly the way I can with a comb. But that could totally be jus me. They are well enough made, but the design doesn't always let fine hair feed through the combs easily.
