I searched quite extensively for a mancala set for our daughter. This one checked all of the boxes. It is attractive which makes for a nice gift presentation. I wouldn't say it's compact, however it folds in half into a narrow shape with magnets that makes it easy to store. The board is solid wood with little carved designs on the outside. The game pieces are irregular shapes of real polished stone which are both beautiful to look at and comfortable to hold. They aren't too big or too small and so much more interesting than the flat glass stones for floral arrangements some sets come with. If you play mancala you know that eventually you accumulate a handful that can be a challenge for smaller hands. Most importantly, they're not round! I can't understand how some sellers are using marbles. Why?🤷‍♀️ Anyhow, this set has been a joy to play with and at such a reasonable price I would easily repurchase for gifting.

I expected something quality for $50 USD when I bought it- I will say am definitely satisfied with this mancala set. It is beautifully crafted, sturdy and the variety of the 48 stones is nice and unique. Will be enjoyed for years to come.

Ordered this because although I am unfamiliar with the game, I love trying new games and this one was so beautiful I couldn't resist. It lives up to the listing photos in real life. It is larger than I thought it would be, maybe 16" long and about 4" wide. It smells lightly of stain, made of genuine wood and seems hand-made for sure. The included game pieces are beautiful, colorful stones and they are stored in a small drawstring bag. I do wish the game board incorporated a way to store the prices securely, just a simple latch on the outside edge would allow you to lock them inside. I'll likely add one myself. Great addition to our game room and I'm excited to play!

If you're a fan of this game. Or just buying a present for someone who loves games. This is a set you will appreciate.The game board itself is made from solid wood, stained a dark walnut brown color. The wood is thick, smooth and nicely finished. I particularly like the rounded shape which is very organic and comfortable to hold. It seems appropriate for the game and the petroglyphs on the outside just seem very natural on the case. Perfect for a game with such a long history.The polished stones provided are outstanding. Not just small little chips. And there is considerable color variation from Greens to browns to reds. Even some blues. Most are translucent. Obviously chosen with care.The instructions are included but they are a little short. A quick search online located a more complete set with some suggested strategies as well as 3 other variations to the game. Took but a moment.This is a great Mancala set that would be appreciated by any game player. It's built to last a lifetime of use. And the set will be appreciated every time you take it out of the box. Like checkers or many other games its relatively easy to play but there are levels of complexity that keep you coming back for another game. Probably explains the popularity of the game over its long history.This is an easy game to recommend. And this particular set it a great example of the game.
