On the whole I am pleased with my purchase
Summary:On the whole I am pleased with my purchase. Even though its lacking evidence of abrasion protection, decent back protection and I think its on the upper end of the price I would consider for a 'spare' jacket. Would I recommend it? Yes.Tested so far for 7 weeks and 2500 miles. This jacket was purchased based on several years using a high quality all weather breathable textile jacket with the linings removed and vents open, and still finding myself practically fully unzipping it with only a T-shirt underneath in order to cool off.My all weather jacket is fantastic in all weather, bar stifling heat, so I had no intention to replace it with something just to cover such a relativity short period of the year in the UK. As such I didn't want to spend a lot on a temporary jacket. The choice was therefore slim. It seems that if you want a good value vented/mesh summer jacket then you needed to compromise on safety and quality - in my opinion the two BASIC qualities of any motorcycle jacket.I've been knocked off my bike pretty badly and it was my protective gear and its quality that saved me from more major injury and extensive skin grafts from road rash. Therefore I made this selection with some trepidation and the full intention of returning this jacket if I wasn't satisfied (thanks Amazon for a painless returns policy). On arrival I was pleasantly surprised, the impact protectors on the shoulder and elbow are CE labelled and what I would class as good (I've seen many CE marked protection which is shoddy at best). The back protection wasn't up to much, but then again I wear a back protector even if I go to the shops so this didn't bother me too much. Add to which even premium brands don't put too much effort into this area of protection. The next issue that bothered me pre-order was the quality of the fabric and it's stitching. Starting with the latter, again I remained surprised, it is a well put together jacket with solid, tidy stitching throughout. The material however remains a cause for concern. There is no info on whether this material has any abrasion protection and only states the material is 100% polyester! Now I'd rather break a bone than have road rash, so this remains my only major gripe. A Teflon weave would have given me greater confidence and no hesitation in ordering this jacket apart from the fact that the supplier would have probably upped the price out of what I think is appropriate.Visibility is also of great importance to me but I don't want to ride around looking like a luminous beacon - which I might add people still 'didn't see you' even though they are looking straight at you - but want to encourage at least a second look which should buy me enough time to react to their stupidity or as is often the case lately, belligerence. The jacket performs quite well in this category, and actually looks better on than it does on these picture's.There's plenty of adjustment around the jacket with Velcro and press studs to ensure a comfortable fit - even if your summer transformation into a slender Adonis hasn't gone to plan. I ordered a large, which is what I normally wear, and sizing was just right (no 'get a size larger or smaller' for me). The zips are all protected and not in direct contact with the body. There are two pockets on the front which are of a good size. It has a adjustable soft fabric collar around the neck (I'm a 16.5" and fits just fine). This product is NOT WATERPROOF! (Yes I felt I had to say that) So if you ride daily as I do, pack a waterproof jacket. That said, I've ridden through some 10-15 min showers and not got very wet at all, so no need to dive for the lay-by or curbside at the slightest dark cloud. Now for the best bit, this jacket is ICY COOL! All these years I've put thousands of miles down sweating my butt off during the hottest summer days with the preference of keeping my skin and flesh on my bones should the many attempts to knock me off my bike prove successful without a jacket on. I now turn up to work cold on a hot summers day. In a poorly cooled environment (in fact the heating is generally on in the summer and off in the winter) there was nothing worse than starting the day already hot and sweaty. I now also get to cool down again on my way home. I might add that this is even on a windless hot day when previously no amount of vent/jacket unzipping would help. Finally, it's worth mentioning I ride in a T-shirt all year round. If you don't then your appreciation of what is cool, or good air flow will be different to mine.I guarantee I'm much cooler and more comfortable than those with summer jackets made with breathable waterproof membranes and thermal liners, and have saved over £100 in comparison to boot.Happy riding, hope this helps.

Great product, bit tight around my beer belly tho
If I had know we were in for a such a great summer I would of bought the XL because all the bbqs and long hot nights indulging in a few cold ones i appear to have put on a bit of weight.Anyway it really does keep you cool and visible.
