The sharpener is easy to use to get a quick sharpening on a knife or edged tool. The cutter works great and will tune up a dull knife fast. It has a small ceramic rod attached to hone the blade further. In theory. Ceramics work great but this is real small and in my opinion will not be worth a darn. The wight of the cutter is good. Has some weight to it. On each side is what feels like a diamond surface for use as a stone. One side is a 300 grit while the other is a 600 grit, they actually work! . Don’t know what the life expectancy of the grit. A great thing to throw in a back pack, glove box, fishing box or garage. A great price just to have something to use on a gull knife. Can’t wait to try it on a hatchet. I think it will do the job easily.

I ordered this sharpener because of its compact size and versatile sharpening surfaces. Ultimately I was disappointed by both the build quality and the complete lack of any kind of instructions. With 320 and 600 grit diamond sharpening surfaces (coupled with 17° and 20° angle guides on the 320 grit side), along with a carbide bar for aggressive blade repair and a fine ceramic rod for honing this handheld sharpener seemed to have it all in a pocketable package. Unfortunately, the build quality is a bit sketchy, but more importantly there are NO instructions included, leaving one on their own when trying to figure out how the manufacturer intends for this to be used. I have a lot of experience with sharpeners of all types yet I’m at a partial loss for how to best utilize this item with its tiny sharpening surfaces and awkward grip. Add to that the fact that I don’t entirely trust the angle guides and I just don’t have a lot of confidence in it. While I’d hoped to keep this in my bag for quick touch-ups of my EDC knives I think it will more likely be relegated to the tool shed where it’ll find use as a tool sharpener on items less likely to be ruined by a poorly made sharpener.
