Know Your Buses Paperback – 16 July 2010

This handy-sized book is perfect for identifying the many shapes and sizes of buses now on our roads. Whilst it contains enough data to be useful for those well-versed in bus identification, it is also ideal for those of a younger generation, or others with a more casual interest, with its excellent colour photos and basic, interesting background information.The price makes it excellent value too.

Nice quality book with some excellent photos. My 5 year old who is bus mad hasn't put this down in over a week. Excellent value.

While this book is useful, I feel it is quite limited which can mostly be attributed to its small size. For example ther Volvo B7RLE and B9TL where manufactured with more than one type of bodywork, but the book only includes pictures of WrightBus bodywork which it incorrectly states is manufactured in the Republic of Ireland! Likewise space is found for the Renault/Irisbus Agora line (of which only about 20 where built) but not for the Volvo B7TL or Scania L94, k series or Volvo B10M, B10L, or B10B which are numerous all over the UK. Neother is there any mention of Alexander Belfast bodywork which although isnt widespread on the UK mainland is certainly more common than the Agora Line! Although by no means perfect either, Alan Millars ABC Bus and Coach recognition is a better purchase IMO for those who want to get to know their buses! Perhaps know your buses best feature is the quality of many of the photograph's

We bought this book for our 2 year old nephew last Christmas. He loved it.......... the pictures that is. His older siblings were able to make good use of the text.Yes it is a simply writen and well illustrated vest pocket edition, covering the most of the busses you will see in any city centre. A good introduction - shame about a few errors in the text, but still a good introduction none the less.What we need this year is the same again looking at some historic buses.

I was a bit disappointed by this book. It's now quite out of date so doesn't show any more recent bus models. It's ok but if I'd seen it beforehand I don't think I'd have purchased it.
