Easy assembly
I bought two of these Viking ships. One for a friend who likes anything to do with the Vikings and the other for myself because I enjoy different styles of old ships. The only thing I needed that did not come in box was a craft knife to help punch the pieces out. The instructions are clear I do recommend reading through them before assembly. Just so you have an idea how to layout the pieces before you start especially if you are like me and pop all the pieces out at once. I enjoyed putting it together it took me around six hours but if this is your first time it will probably take you longer. I was not expecting it to be as large as it was most of the previous ones I have built have been smaller. It looks really great when the gears and oars move. My favorite part is batteries are not needed to get everything to work it uses a type c cord that you would use for an android device.

Great Fun
This was a lot of fun to put together. The pieces are rather thick and don't break easily. And it works fantastic. Love it.

Stunning 3D Puzzle of a Viking Ship - the Oars Row!
This Viking ship puzzle was difficult, but not frustrating. The instructions were clear and fairly easy to follow. I took my time and carefully followed each step and did not have to redo anything. The pieces popped out of the wooden sheets easily, but I did have a few tools with me to help tweeze or trim any extra wood. I recommend you take your time at the beginning and separate the pieces from the back. Then organize them so that you can easily find what you are looking for. After that, follow the step-by-step instructions and watch the magic happen! I worked on this puzzle for 20 - 30 minutes a day for a few weeks and found it very relaxing. It was nice to focus on something outside of work in the evenings. I think it would also be fun to put this puzzle together with someone else so it could be a fun activity for you and your children or an elderly parent.I am fairly new to assembling 3D puzzles and I found this one quite challenging. It took me quite a bit more time than the 5 hours the manufacturer claimed, but it was worth it when I got to plug it in with the USB cable and see everything move! The Viking ship circle rotates and rows the oars, which is so cool. Putting together this puzzle had a huge payoff and that was such a special moment. I have it up on a shelf, but bring it down when my nieces and nephews come over and ask to play with it. This puzzle is a great gift idea for those who enjoy putting together traditional puzzles and are looking for a new challenge!

A beautiful piece; unfortunately not precise enough
I have built several of these ROKR/Robotime pieces, from small piano music boxes to huge globes and pendulum clocks. All of them have worked smoothly, even against the odds, and even if I've had to supplement the small pegs to keep some parts together with superglue. They're all gorgeous, they make lovely decorative elements around the house, and people give me lots of compliments on them at the office as well. This one is no exception. It's very large, quite impressive, and the lighting system is definitely something different compared to their usual fare. My only complaint about this one, and why it gets 4 and not 5 stars, is the gear that powers the whole thing ended up being about half a centimeter off from where it needed to be. If I'd known what it was connecting to much earlier in the project, I might've tested it with the P19 gear much, much sooner. I still don't know exactly where I went wrong, as the bar for the ships "ribs" is straight on both sides and the whole thing would've been incredibly impressive if I were able to get the mechanics to work smoothly. I've opted instead not to plug in the moving piece and only have it light up, which is still plenty beautiful. My suggestion to anyone thinking about getting this - check where the motor gear is, then double check it, then triple check it. Then, put the P19 smaller clear gear into the center two pegs and make sure the bottom of it lines up with the motor gear. If it doesn't, keep pushing the "#10" down to seat it as low as it will possibly go! Good luck and happy building, all.

Amazing puzzle
This puzzle is so cool! It comes and it is insanely heavy. This is a good indication of the quality to come. When you open it all the pieces are really well-made. The printing is absolutely fantastic. This is an intense puzzle. I know it’s only 229 pieces but the fact that it is 3-D makes it a little more challenging. It is 100% worth the effort. Once you build it, you will be so happy. We are a homeschooling family and we are doing a Viking unit and this was the perfect add-on for it. All of us were able to participate and build this and it honestly looks amazing. It does stand on its own and it’s very sturdy.
