I’ve always owned SanDisk or Patriot flash drives, and hesitated on purchasing this one—even at a great Prime Day price. I didn’t fully understand about it being a SSD (not a typical) flash drive, and the mentioned (very fast) speed of transfers. Plus, there weren’t many reviews. But I bought it, came yesterday, and WOW! First, this thing feels extremely ‘quality-made’. It’s metal, and does get warm, but not ‘ouch’ hot like my SanDisk, which eventually cooked itself into oblivion. Second, this is the fastest drive I’ve ever owned. I didn’t test it, but I transferred 30 years of teacher files (@700 gb) from my desktop in a short evening. I am seriously impressed! Finally, this thing just feels right. It’s a bit heavy, and it’s not small like my dearly departed SanDisk, but its sturdiness lends confidence that it is a survivor. It has both USB C & A plugs, and the latter has a cap. Not to worry, it fits tightly. The final touch is a nice case to attach to a key ring. Am I satisfied? You bet. As to longevity, I don’t know. My Patriots had the best warranty on the planet, and if I hadn’t lost them, I wouldn’t have needed this one. But this is one fine, fast, quality, drive. My only regret was not getting the two terabyte model!

I couldn't be more pleased with this flash drive. It weighs a little more than many other flash drives, which is perfectly fine. Means its durable and made with quality and functionality in mind. The size is only about an inch longer than other flash drives. It is also extremely fast, and is a great value for what you get. I have no regrets purchasing this flash drive, and I will definitely order more in the future.

UPDATE June 2025 One of the SSK SD311 Pro sticks I had failed (both MacOS and Windows say the device was pulling too much power). I wasn't sure what to do, but I contacted SSK support. After discussing with SSK support, they agreed to send me a replacement drive. It arrived within 2 days and I'm pleased with the device and the support I received. What follows is my early review for the SSK SD311 Pro (1TB USB3.2 Gen 2 1000MB/s) stick. I just received the stick 15 minutes ago and it is working wonderfully so far on my MacBook Pro running Sonoma via its USB-C connector. See the two runs of the Blackmagicdesign Disk Speed Test on the SSK stick. Write speed (5GB files) ranges from around 670-750MB/s; Read speeds are consistent in the 930MB/s range. (While not quite 1000MB/s, the doc says "up to" and these speeds are exceptional in my opinion.) Note: the documentation -- and best practices -- specify that you should Eject the SSK stick before removing it from your computer. So far I am pleased with this SSK stick. I'll update this review if there are meaningful changes in my opinion.

Firstly, this flash drive is really fast. I was getting advertised speeds on my MacBook Pro. Copying large images, videos, documents, etc, the drive performed flawlessly. The metal housing makes it easy to stick in my purse. It's super small and light weight. However, it got really hot. It was to the point that I couldn't really touch it because the casing is metal so like picking up a hot pan or something. If the heat level was less, I would give it a 5 star and automatic recommendation to everyone. But as it stands, 4/5.

Lightning fast speeds, amazing for the data transfers I have to do for work.

At first the disk was great. However, after a while the disk started to transfer slowly. After a week or so of this, now it will not access files/folders without getting a "Not Responding" message for over 5 minutes. Eventually, the disk will either respond (but only for a minute or so) or it will disappear from the system altogether. Running Windows 10. I have tried reformatting the disk (lost some data) and I get the same thing. I have contacted ssk customer support twice regarding warranty on this item and another and have not heard back from them. Very poor customer service. I would avoid this brand.

Great size - already bought 2! Performs well!

Only transferred at about 36MB/s. I tried reformatting in different formats (NTFS/exfat) and sector sizes. My other USB transfers at over 100MB/s. I sent this one back for refund. Refund went through quickly.
