Decent Laptop. May not the be the best, but deffinately good.......but......
This is a bit of a mixed bag. Before purchasing this laptop I had bought myself a hp x360 with pretty much the same specs, worked like a charm....until it didn't. The wifi card was broke right out of the box, a sure sign of the "quality" of this hp laptop. The lack of a consumer friendly assembly made fixing it impossible. So i decided to send back the hp and bet on dell. Now my experience with dell in the past was always strained, namely i wasn't the biggest fan of their bloat ware or the hardware. This laptop is nothing like any previous dell laptop I've had. Right out of the box the wifi worked (thank goodness), and the computer was clean as a whistle with very little to no bloatware whatsoever. The processor (the same one in the hp laptop), was as fast as could be expected. Battery life was well into 3 hours under nominal loads. Audio was on the better side of acceptable and overall performance was nothing to shake your head at either. Now for the cons. The laptop suffers from heat issues right out of the box, its vent is placed in a rather weird location, in the center. A fin on the rear bottom edge of the screen prevents hot air from being blown out the back. Instead a good portion of the hot air is vented out upward along the front of the screen. You don't feel any heat output from the vents but there is a warm spot on the bottom of the laptop, directly beneath the location of the cpu. This is usually not an issue as the ryzen processor rarely get above 12% cpu, assuming you disable the proper windows services. As for gaming performance, its not too shabby. The Vega graphics do a pretty good job running most games at fairly reasonable speeds. Good for light to Medium gaming, would not recommend heavy gaming due to heating issues.Things do do after purchase:*Buy RAM*SSD?The price difference between this dell and the hp is startling. I know that they are different grades of computer altogether, but for the price difference is not justified on the part of hp. A broken laptop right out of the box a perfect indicator of the lack of quality found in (at least that particular unit) hp laptops. Dell is old reliable, not the prettiest and surely not the best, but for the money you pay a worthwhile pc. It has its issues but they are livable. Its consumer friendly assembly make upgrading the laptop simple and easy. It's built in open SSD port and spare RAM slot are indications that dell is fine with you upgrading you product and actively encourage it, something rarely seen with manufactures lately.Overall this is a great computer, it has faults but none so glaring as to detract from its performance or looks. Its weight is reasonable, as is it's price. For the price this a fine laptop, dare I say a great laptop.

Nice explandable little laptop for the price.
Nice expandable little laptop. Goes up to 32G RAM, M2 AMD. I'm sure I'll eventually get tired of Windows 10 and install Arch or something cool. In the meantime persistent live usb drives scream on this machine. This laptop is big. Seems like it's almost a 17" but it is not. It is heavy. it is pretty. It is very solid feeling and well made. Nice going Dell! I love the little Ethernet port clip. The video card does nice bluray and 4k video streaming, the machine has a nice speed. The Windows 10 installation is pretty clean. Very little bloat-ware and a very basic install. Dropping in an SSD, 7200rpm hd, or M2 and maxing the RAM to 32 and this machine will scream. No! It's not a powerful gaming laptop or powerful for video editing though I have edited bluray video on an AMD A6 laptop and it does a great job it simply takes two days to do it. HA! I paid $416 for this laptop and I am very happy with it. Even as stock and out of the box, for general use, surfing, and many programs it will be great. Heavy graphics games? Nope! But for just over $400 it is a very nice machine.

Poor AMD Ryzen 5 2500U implementation. Un pobre implementación del AMD Ryzen 5 2500U
The real problem here is that we have a good performance of APU downgraded by the other components and a BIOS that is far from competent. As expected, the HDD at 5400 rpm is a bottleneck in the overall performance of the system, but still has the option of an SDD or an NVMe M.2.What is unforgivable is the impossibility of changing the amount of memory shared with the GPU. By default, the RAM size allocated for the video is 256 Mb and there is no option in BIOS to change that. (I am using the latest version 1.1.17 of Dell BIOS). So forget about using Photoshop CS6 (which needs 512Mb of VRAM), despite having one of the best integrated GPUs and 8Gb of RAM. I think Dell made a big mistake at this particular point, while its competitors allow you to change the size of the RAM shared with the GPU by BIOS.The touch screen is TN that does the job, good sound quality, good touch pad and acceptable battery life.

overall a good purchase
Interestingly the one I received has a touch screen but no DVD/DVDWR. It came with Dual channel memory. I installed NVMe and 8 GB memory. So overall my laptop has 12GB RAM. Windows boots in less than 10 seconds with no antivirus installed :)The system has crashed once with blue screen. No doubt system gets really hot and I dont like the vent system. My office laptop HP ZBook has an i7 cpu with 16 GB memory but it never gets as hot. Laptop cooler is a must. Screen no doubt is poor.Pros:Decent performanceupgradablegood for basic gaming as wellkeyboard is big but keys are not as sharp as of HP ZBook(a 1500+ USD laptop)WeightCons:Ventilationscreen
