Fermenting for beginners
I got these because I wanted a simple way to learn how to ferment with very little experience. These offer an awesome resource for somebody like me who wants to get into it, but doesn’t quite understand everything about it. They are easy to use and function perfectly. When looking into the brand, I can definitely tell that this product shows how much they care about the success of their products. It definitely feels like there was a lot of thought and understanding of fermentation put into this design. I also really like the pack as a pack of multiple and that they come in a variety of colors!

Turns Any Wide-Mouth Mason Jar Into a Fermenter
If you want to do small batch fermenting, this is a great kit. It allows you to use any wide-mouth Mason jar. Especially great for quick pickling with 32oz jars. I've used it to test mead recipes using 64oz size jars. The sturdy lid is made with heavy duty plastic, so no chance of rusting. Making it very resusable. Angled edges help with opening and closing by providing excellent grip. The silicon gasket seals the lid, except for the airlock opening. Accepts most common airlocks, if you don't prefect the 3 piece version that comes with the kit. And once the airlock is properly installed, the silicone seal makes it completely air tight, so the CO2 can only escape through the airlock. Much better than DIY versions by drilling your own hole through the standard metal Mason jar lids.

Mason jar goodness
Love using my mason jars for fermenting, especially after primary. I always seem to half a half gallon or some leftover amount that fits perfectly in one. Great tops for your jars.

Works well, bubbler works well and can be used separately
The seal is good, your can use the bubbler separately for making wine on a carboy. The lids fit wide mouth pint jars well. Easy to use.

Well-made, no problems with it
Review of lids & 3-piece airlocks from Fermentaholics The set seems quite well-made and I have found no flaws in manufacturing. The lids are significantly thicker and sturdier than the plastic Ball jar lids that I have for my canning jars. The 11-sided lids help make removing the lids easier. The There's a thin ring of silicone around the inside of the lid to make that seal airtight so all of the gases go out through the airlock. The airlocks are not particularly thick, but they should stand up to heavy use as long as they're cared for. I wanted to try some 3-piece airlocks after seeing them featured on some fermentation websites. The sites weren't talking about these specifically, just airlocks in general. Functionally, I'm not really aware of much of a difference between any of these airlocks so when these were offered on Amazon's Vine, I decided to try them. I do want to get either glycerin or a cheap vodka to use in the airlocks because apparently some people don't like these because they can harbor mold if you're not careful. Glycerin and vodka seemed to be two of the safer options with these. Right now I've just filled mine with water for the time being, and I don't think that will cause a problem as long as I don't leave it on too long. I decided that my first attempt with airlocks would be the 3-part kind since they are easier to clean than the curved tubes. So far, these have been working very satisfactorily to keep out all air but still let the ferments vent. It's too soon for me to say whether or not these will actually make better ferments than my previous lids, but I haven't had any trouble with them either. The one thing I really like about them is that it lets me monitor my microbes and I can see how long it takes for them to start eating again after I feed them. It doesn't really give me any actual benefit other than a sense of comfort in knowing that they're still going strong.
