COOLTONE FA-B12 12-Inch Box Fan Grey

I've had this fan for a year before writing this review. I'm doing so now because even the first is still going strong I really NEED a second one!I've had every type of fan there is in the past but this is by far my favourite!It's not a silent fan, it's just a bit of white noise in the background, but you don't get that added sound that other fans have when they move while oscillating. It's perfect to help keep my bedroom cooler at night, and being a woman of a certain age that is a lifesaver!

Bought it to make an air purifier fixed with filters for my workshop. Works a treat. Thoroughly recommend it.

I bought one of these 29 years ago. It's still working 29 years later. This new one arrived the next day, plugged it in, and it's been rock solid ever since. It can be placed on the window sill and brings in cooler air from outside without the worry of it falling over. Brilliantly simple design.

I was looking for an American-style box fan (Lasko), and this one was clearly not one of them, but a closest match.Tbh I am surprised by the quality of materials, as in the pictures the plastic looks very cheap and shiny - it's nothing like that.The fan itself is very powerful (around 50W) and three speed settings are very convenient. Rotating grill feature is the best - it allows to either direct the airflow in one spot or cover the whole room. It doesn't blow directly in front, but that's not a problem at all.I don't use the timer much, but it works as it should and it's a nice feature to have.Overall very happy with the product.

Replacing my old box fan I was pleasantly surprised that this one was a fair price and well made. Some people may say it's noisy but I don't find it any worse than other fan, whatever the type. I suppose I am lucky that I have a hearing impairment which gives me the advantage of being able to run the fan in my bedroom as once my hearing aids are taken out the noise level, for me, decreases LOL Anyway, I find it good value and would definitely buy the same product again if I needed another fan.

I have had two of these, and neither of them worked for more than six months. With the first, I thought I was just unlucky and had got a bad one - so I replaced it with an identical one. That stopped working too. Clearly some kind of major design flaw so AVOID THIS PRODUCT.Update: The design is such that the bearings fill with dust after a while and the whole thing grinds to a halt. If you know what you are doing (and manage not to electrocute yourself) you might be able to get the thing working again with some PTFE lubricant. But be careful to choose something that does not degrade the plastic, short out the electrics, fill the room with volatiles, etc.

Bought this to replace one that got damaged. Produces a nice swirl of air without itself moving about, other than the vent on the front. Does produce a nice cooling effect in hot weather. Has 3 different speeds .essy to carry as it has a bit of a grip on the back of the top. The only niggle I have is that there’s no place to wind up the flex when you are carrying it about.
