Somehow, I had worked out, that fighting it, did not work, and had recently given up even trying, so this book explains how the primitive brain, sees my 'fight' against myself, as 'danger', and is reinforced each time I denied, ignored, distracted, etc. So, I discovered that Mindfuiness is the newest theory, and completely agree that Meditation is a safe way to allow the emotions to show up, as often I am numb, and to experience the body sensations, which freak me out. Wonderful that this programme is in the UK, and becoming mainstream. I am eager to put the plan into action. Thank you all you wonderful Drs.
