I love this set of well made, basic porcelain dinnerware, and everyone likes the deep, large cereal or ice cream bowls best. These are perfectly sized bowls, and if you don't believe me you can check in with the expert in the living room, my Labrador. He knows his ice cream bowls, and he also loves soup.These come in a choice of white or black, and I ordered the white, but in truth these dishes are off-white and would go with anything. You get a great price on this 12-piece set, including four nice bowls, four dinner plates, and four salad plates. If you want a service for six or eight in this dinnerware, it won't break the bank to buy one 12-piece set this month and another 12-piece set next month.I also like that these are dishwasher and microwave safe. I don't need my dinnerware to go in the freezer or the oven. These dishes are sturdy and I haven't broken one yet, which is quite a compliment to the dinnerware because, even though I don't want to, I tend to break things. That's why my more expensive dinnerware stays in the china cabinet, or it did when I had room for the china cabinet.All the pieces in this dinnerware set are standard sized, except the bowls hold 16 ounces, which you don't normally see and which my dog and I definitely prefer over smaller bowls.I gave these dishes five stars because they're sturdy, the pieces are good sized, and there ARE those 16-ounce bowls to consider. I'll be ordering another set of these very soon because we're spoiled to these larger bowls and we need some more, and that's just all there is to it.This dinnerware set would make a wonderful wedding gift, especially if you got with a friend and each of you ordered a set. These are very well made, sturdy, and the pretty off-white would go with anything. My dog feels these dishes go best with soup or ice cream, and it's hard to argue with a smart dog like him.
